"Dr. Gao and Dr. Eileen Gao are always nice and caring. One day my husband got an emergency, one of his teeth that needed to be taken care of with a crown. Dr. Gao did a wonderful job. My husband said Dr. Gao showed him the details about before and after. He said he knows Dr. Gao is the right person to go and X-ray showed it was in good shape. For my husband’s personal experience after seeing multiple dentists, he feels Dr. Gao is the most experienced, responsible dentist. The bill coordinator and office manager are nice and responsible as well. We have insurance coverage and never had an issue after treatment. The office has an advanced machine that can take pics of the teeth. Dr. Gao can explain the treatment plan for us thru the pics. You can totally trust this office."

"The WORST dental experience I could ever dream of. I went in for an initial visit, only to be told that I’d need crowns and that my teeth are in “horrible condition”. Feeling concerned and not having anywhere else to go due to insurance, I trusted Dr. Gao. BIG MISTAKE. My crowns visit consisted of me waiting an extremely long time (at least 30-40 mins) in the chair alone waiting for the numbing to work. After Dr. Gao began working on shaving the tooth down, my mouth was still not numb and I felt every bit of it. I kept having to tell him to stop because the pain was unbearable. He tried numbing again, only for it to still not work. Then, with 10 minutes left before closing, he tried to complete my crown setup. Gritting through the pain, we finally got it done. It was sloppy and the glue was all over my gums, irritating them to the point that I had to have a new dentist help me with the severe inflammation. My new dentist also told me that my teeth are actually in good condition and I never even needed the crown…. I was then told I owed different amounts every time I called back, and that they “couldn’t find my insurance”. I’ve called multiple times over the span of months asking for an itemized receipt of what was done and how much I owe, and they just respond with “yeah we’ll send it to you”. After asking so many times, I STILL DO NOT HAVE THIS. Save your money and physical well being and STAY AWAY from this place."

"If I could, I would give it -1 star. It does not care about the patients, it just cares about making money. I went in with sensitive teeth. They did all kinds of X-ray in my 1st visit and sent me back asking me to get another appointment which I did. Here are the things that happened after that have shaped my opinion: 1.On my way out they ensured I pay them even though I had my insurance. They said they would refund whatever I paid extra after my insurance paid them off. I requested them to email me a copy of my x-ray which they said they would. After 2 days of not getting any email from them, I called them and they said they would only email me a copy after they were paid by the insurance( remember, I had already paid them). It's over 2 months and I've still not got the copy I requested, and for the records, all the payments have been settled. 2. On the day of my appointment I called ahead of time and asked if I could just do one of the 2 services they had recommended and do the other sometime later, to which they said that I can go find another dentist if I want it that way. Since I was really in pain and wanted it to be taken care of and going through the whole hoopla with another dentist meant another few days or weeks which I could not deal with, I went in . But it's an example of how they treat their patients. 3. The day I had to get my dental service, the dentist came in did another few x-rays, went and gave me some numbing shot in my gums and asked me to wait for 10 mins for it to start working. I waited, not just 10 mins but much more than that but when I started losing my patience, I went out to ask for the dentist and I was told that he was treating another patient...another patient!!! in my time!!! while he made me just sit there...what an idea...getting business from 2 patients simultaneously, with no respect to your patients' time. I almost created a scene before he came back. 4. I would have overlooked everything if they had finally solved my tooth problem. But unfortunately, now after his filling, I cannot even take a bite from the side I got my filling done. I called the dentist and he said this will go away in a few days. It's been 2 months. I can only eat from one side of my mouth and I still have sensitivity all over which he said would stop a few days after cleaning. So basically, I went in, threw some money at them and came back with a worse dental problem than I went in with. because I feel it will only make my thing even worse. Bottom line...HORRIBLE place. rude staff, bad service, and money, not the patient is their focus. NEVER go there."

"Dr. Gao has a kind heart and takes more time ensuring that his patients are comfortable and know what is happening and why, his staff seems to genuinely care, Julie always seems to remember what's going on in my life, and Meg has the best hygenist I've ever had."

"I have been going to Family Dental Montgomery for a few years now. I am very pleased with Dr. Gao and his staff. I have a few 'challenges' in my care due to age and prior periodontal problems. We set a plan and my dental health has definitely improved under Dr. Gao's care."
