"I met Nicole for the first time and she is a delightful technician who did a very nice job cleaning my teeth. I hope to be scheduled with her in the future."
"Needed emergency crown replacement. Wasn’t done very well — lots of issues with it. And will not cooperate with my dental insurance to provide additional information to cover the botched procedure. Ignores my repeated requests to try and resolve over the last year. Very unhappy."
"I called to cancel an appointment the same day because my sister-in-law was going into labor. Instead of dealing with the cancellation in a professional manner, I was told I needed to re-schedule that day or be charged a $50 broken appointment fee. Are you kidding?? Charging a cancellation fee for a family emergency? I understand this is a business, but could they at least attempt to care about the lives of their patients and be understanding of their needs? I called them (to be courteous to them) and I was given attitude about what I was going to need to pay and when I could re-schedule. Thankfully, I moved to Cincinnati just recently, so my teeth and oral care has been professionally handled by a superior dental staff. I will have no problem locating a different dentist and I will actively tell colleagues and friends to avoid Blue Ash Dental! Blue Ash Dental has made it clear they would rather have $50 dollars than two visits per year for several years to come for a patient! I can't express any further my disappointment from a fellow health care provider! Shameful!!"
"They used the laser on a very large broken filling no numbing what a plus. I didn't FEEL one thing it was the best experience in a dental office I had ever had, Dr. Detmer is so friendly, down to earth and charming. Kathy was the same, Dr Detmer prepped the tooth and Kathy placed the filling. They did a fabulous job. I don't think I will ever be nervous about going to the dentist again as long as Dr Detmer is my dentist. Everyone was GREAT, what a WONDerful office."
"Worst experience I ever had with a medical office & Candy is the worst receptionist I have run into in my career. She is not only rude but has no respect for patients and no understanding of patient rights & should be fired in my professional opinion. (She is definitely costing her Doctor many patients! not to mention I was referred to her dentist by a friend who won't do that again!). After giving their office all my personal information 3 months ago on a form completing phone call, I finally had my first appointment yesterday which was scheduled 3 months earlier. The day before my appointment, I was called by Candy, the doctors receptionist and asked for my Social Security Number. I hardly ever give it out for several reasons including identity theft as most companies know they either cannot require it or should not unless it is an insurance company issue. Candy was not happy and told me that it was an insurance requirement for billing. So, I called Anthem Insurance company and they said it was not required and said they would call the doctor immediately to explain it is "NOT" required by Anthem or most large companies because of identity theft reasons which increases their liability and costs. I spoke to Candy after Anthem called the doctors office to see if everything was corrected she said they still needed my Social Security Number. I then asked to speak to the doctor and she said the doctor would call me back later. As Candy hung up the phone she said, "WOWWWWWWWW!" to a colleague mocking my conversation. I called her back and said that was a rude thing to do and she apologized. A few hours later I received a call and was told that my appointment tomorrow (that I waited 3 months for!!) was cancelled and to find another dentist. I said ok, no problem but making me wait 3 months and then asking me for my SS# when Anthem does not require it and I am a cash paying patient at time of service for any deductibles was unprofessional and just not right... I was told their office has 5,000 folders of patients (think doctor would find that leak of his information also very upsetting) and the receptionist has all of those patients Social Security numbers. Summary: If you think you must give your Dentist your social security number ...YOU DO NOT unless your doctor is required by "YOUR insurance carrier" and MOST companies know better than to require it in the medical field. They can ask you for anything but you have the right to say NO. Be smart and know your rights! With identity theft at it's peak today and almost 1 in 3 of us having identity theft issues... You can Learn your rights on the web. I also would NOT use this or any other office that abuses your rights as a patient and lastly remember... employees leave their jobs every day and an employee who demands your personal information when it is NOT required, raises my suspicions... how about yours? I was a CEO in the medical field for over 30 years and can tell you with certainty that receptionists like this can destroy the reputation of any good doctor. Be careful and good luck!"
