"Purchased a water softener about 3-4 years ago. I have remained on the maintenance program. I pay a fee every month and get a free service plus 6 bags of salt quarterly. I thought after purchasing new equipment, I wouldn’t have any problems but that’s not the case. My real problem is, whenever I have had problems, it takes 2 weeks to get someone out here to service unit. 2 weeks of bypassing softener with extremely hard water is excruciating . It takes them less than 30 minutes to do their thing but still takes 2 weeks to get service! Hire another person! Definitely do adequate research on options before purchasing a Culligan water softener and keep in mind, the maintenance program doesn’t get you any faster service. They do not automatically come out and do preventative maintenance. You are basically paying $90 for 6, 40lb bags of salt. ($30 per month)."
