"I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb here, everyone else seems to have such a lovely experience with L&A that was not at all how things went for me. This group of attorneys wasted 2 years of my life during my disability proceedings and failed on every level to communicate with me the most vital details of the SSI/SSDI process. I'm now trapped in a situation that cannot be remedied. I'm left to figure out the appeals process on my own. I was naïve and did not realize at the time of my first meeting with one of their paralegals or secretaries, whatever they were, that I was signing paperwork binding me to their firm. My specific attorney only spoke to me TWICE both times, the WEEK OF my hearing. If you're truly unlucky like myself you may end up in a situation where you won't be able to file again (because of my last insured date.) with only 60 days to appeal and NOW no counsel to assist me. I'm not sure how much more jaded I can get. No one took the time to explain to me how all of this works, after contacting a second attorney upon notification that L&A were releasing me from their contract (via email no less & no more information) and having a lengthy conversation with this secondary expert I now understand why I feel so cheated. My experience felt the opposite of so many of these other reviewers. I did not feel cared about at all. I'm up the creek without a paddle, boat or life jacket and all I can do about it is warn others that this group of attorney's will only treat you like a number if you contact them for disability, there will be no conversations or explanations, they'll drop you like a sack of potatoes when they realize they wasted your time. just to clarify why I’d Leave this review - my experience with your firm was awful and I have a right to share how you treated me. Excuses about emails and calls going unanswered and shifting blame to me is laughable considering how frequently I reached out to correct information or supply dates. Again 2 years of my time and energy could have been spared this clownery had a single person who knew what they were talking about spoken to me. Also it’s a red flag that a law firm would reply giving anyone information about how I conducted myself considering all my communication with you at the time of being a client should be covered by attorney client privilege."
"I found it difficult or impossible to get a return call from my lawyer after signing a representation contract with the firm. Staffers would routinely answer the phone, take messages, and promise return calls, but the calls never came. Days went by and still no reply. When I did actually manage to get my lawyer on the phone, I felt he was rude and dismissive, and showed little concern for any communication, or my case at all. When I asked questions about my case, I was given incorrect or unhelpful advice telling me to seek other lawyers to cover the gaps in my representation. When I approached (several) other lawyers, they all assured me that this firm should be handling these matters in-house and should not be directing clients to recruit additional lawyers. When I again called L&A to ask about why every other lawyer is telling me this same thing, staffers again promised a prompt response from my lawyer, saying he would call me back that very same day. When no return call came through yet again, and then two more days went by still without a call, I contacted them again. Obviously annoyed by the situation, my lawyer finally bothered to respond and in doing so, decided to just break ties completely and drop both of my cases mid-process, leaving me to deal with the resulting issues on my own. I would have been much better off choosing a different attorney from the start, instead of losing almost 3 months with this firm. Dropping a client's cases when they ask questions and rightfully expect some form of a response is unacceptable. Wasting months of my time during a crisis is unacceptable. Creating additional hardships for an already injured worker is unacceptable. It is unprofessional and irresponsible to operate a law firm if you are not going to communicate with your clients. You can’t claim any high ground in acting this way. This was childish in response and in practice."
"First lawyer I had believed in my case and the first offer she got from my company was 10k she said that wasn't enough at all and was ready to take them to court. For whatever reason she quit and I guess they gave her case load to another lawyer that just wanted to get rid of me. The first offer he got from my company was 2k he said I had no case and that I would lose and not get anything and basically railroaded me into settling for 10k in the end which I'm very disappointed with since my back is messed up for the rest of my life. I didn't trust him to take it to court because it sounded like he wouldn't even try because he said I had no case. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless your boss witnesses you when you get injured and I don't even know about then. I would give them 0 stars if I could"
