"This is a review for the Jackson Hewitt location in Troy, Ohio on Dorset. March 2022. HIGHLY ADVISE calling first for pricing and going anywhere else. We have been to this location for several years and were okay with it in the past. This year the location is under new ownership. Our super basic tax prep cost $245 more this year for the same services we received last year (I am royally embarrassed for publicly admitting we paid a total of $562!!! And that was for the MOST simple tax prep that I can imagine they have to deal with). It was impossible to call in to make an appointment, so we scheduled one online. The appointment was scheduled, like all appointments in life are, for a specific time but the preparer was 45 minutes behind for the drop-off appointment and 30 minutes behind for the pickup appointment. I wasted time & lots of money here. I hate having to deal with taxes but this place made it even worse. (God Bless the tax preparer lady because she was doing her best with old tech, a location that is obviously understaffed, selling a service that is overpriced). To help the reader of my review even more, I just called H&R Block and the same services will only be $385."
