"Ms. Gabriele was appointed to represent me around 2018-2019. This was for a felony criminal case. Let me start by saying that there are some amazing public defender's out there. They will treat you with dignity, respect, and will help resolve your case to the best of their ability. I don't expect a public defender to perform as well as a hired attorney. If they performed at the same level there would be fewer people hiring attorney's. As long as they are eligible to have one appointed... So my expectations of Linda were realistic. Upon meeting her for the first time, in court, not before court so we had time to discuss my situation, It was apparent she disliked me. I sensed a superiority complex. While in court she would make disparaging remarks about me. I felt like she was not on my side. She made me feel small. The case drug out for over 3 years. I was appointed another attorney halfway through. The new attorney contacted Linda for her case file and Linda had an hour long conversation gossiping about me. My new attorney asked me what I did to piss her off. There was nothing I was aware of. Her bad attitude towards me was present from the first hearing onward. I had previously missed a court date because I was in the hospital. During the day I remained in contact with Linda. Both before and after the court hearing. Linda went into court and told them she couldn't reach me. She made fun of the medical reasoning I was hospitalized while gossiping with the new attorney. I was dumbfounded by her lack of professionalism not to mention embarrassed and angry she disclosed private medical matters that had to relevance to the case. I still don't know what her issue was with me. I'm a mild mannered introvert who dislikes confrontation. I showed her nothing but respect. Maybe your experience would be better. Maybe that affected the way you treated me. Either way I wish you well."
