H&R Block

"I’ve used H and R block my entire adult life in Nebraska. When I moved to Toledo Ohio I figured it would be the same great service I was accustomed to, but they have messed up every year the last three years. Unfortunately the first year I was shorted 1000 dollars. The next year my spouse was shorted over 3000. So this year we were supposed to receive the 3000 from the year before that they didn’t file correctly but it’s nearing the end of the year and still haven’t received it. Unfortunately when we would call after filling no one seemed to know what was going on and gave really vague answers saying it’s been filed so on so forth. Then the offices just close for the season still nothing and it is not a cheap process to go thru. I went thru them because I had a sense of security going thru them kind of a you get what you pay for situation. Not so much anymore I don’t know if it’s just the Toledo area or if H and R block is going down hill in general. We still don’t know what to do. Oh and before I forget the emerald card the suggest data was hacked so some of our personal information was stolen, but hey at least they sent us a letter to apologize."

"Horrible sloppy work. I am having to run around and fix their mistakes. Definitely will never use H&R Block ever again. The "tax pro" messed up my taxes, she had no answers for my questions after I filed. Terrible experience overall. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere."

"I filed my taxes with Janice before the IRS was accepting them this year. When she did them I told her there's no way that's the refund, it was thousands of dollars less that what I get back every year. A week later she called back and said she figured it out. There was some button that she missed and forgot to click. Once she did the amount went to where it usually is. Told me we are good to go and they were sent right away. I got a text confirming that the IRS accepted my return...and it had the lower amount! I called her to tell her and she said theres no way. After she looked into it AGAIN she said she forgot to hit save ugh! So after I received the first portion I had to amended my taxes in order to receive the rest. I filed Feb. 22 and finally received the rest of my return mid July! Because she had screwed up my taxes it put a hold on the last stimulus. So the $1,200 per dependant was not even sent until the end of July. July 15th, everyone with children were supposed to get child tax credit..unless you opt out. Which I didn't do. Guess what....still haven't received that...due to a mistake through HR block. Wait..it gets better....my IRS tax advocate called me last week and told me Janice messed up the amendment and they have to amend the amended return!! AND SHES THE MANAGER OF THAT LOCATION!!!! DONT EVER GO THERE!!!"

"Although there are very good and polite people, I was very unhappy with the virtual tax preparation option. The communication with such sensitive information should have been a lot better. My taxes had gone unnoticed for a week , before I called. There where also other things I wish had been communicated that I was not aware of that would have lowered the amount of frustration I have with this process. The app is very clunky and communication SHOULD NOT been done thru the app. I will just go into do my taxes from now on."
