Reviews of Plain Township Veterans Park
"The trail is a bit dusty and difficult to run on or push a stroller, but it's well maintained. There's a dog park and a ton of native flowers for butterflies and bumblebees. Great for a walk or run for anyone. The memorial is pristine as well. I just wish it were more prominent in the park."
"My mom & I brought my daughter & niece here for the 1st & LAST time today. We were at the park maybe an hour when someone who worked for the park came up to me stating my back window had been shattered (along with several other cars in the parking lot). My wallet & my moms purse had been stolen. The park was busy and in the same parking lot as the Plain Township FD. I just can't believe someone would do that in broad day light & when it was as busy as it was. I will no longer be taking my daughter there which is unfortunate because it is a really nice park/splash park."
"Watch out for Ticks! I took my dog on a walk the other day and ended up having 3 ticks crawling on me during my walk. And and now I have ticks on my dog. And we didn’t have this issue until I took her on a walk that day. But this place is beautiful and we always come here on our walks. But I’m considering brining my dog anymore if these ticks are going to be an issue. I don’t want me or her getting sick."
"Seems like a nice park, but we didn't really enjoy it too much overall. We only explored the playground area from a 2 year old perspective. There is a larger play structure with a few slides and climbing obstacles. There's a smaller play structure with a couple slides for younger children. Kyle did not like the slides here at all for some reason. One slide he said was too hot. It's 75 and sunny in April. Theres a separate standing rock wall that no kids really took part of. Not much for interactive play compared to somewhere like Boettler Park. There is a mixture of soft rubberized track like ground and multch around the playground. Pretty crowded with youngins for a Tuesday afternoon. Not a very big park if it gets even more crowded. Only 4 big kid swings and 2 autistic/special needs swings. The splash pad was much smaller than I anticipated, it was not on obviously it's only April. There are nice picnic tables under the pavilion and plenty of benches for seating around and throughout. Lots of grassy areas to sit or picnic. Being from the Akron/Springfield area, we probably won't make the trip to return given many other better park options. There appears to be a nice walking trail that we didn't get the chance to explore. The dog park was big and very nice looking, but nobody was in there? Saw a few dogs walking with owners around the trail. There's also apparently a frisbee golf course which I will probably play sometime this year. The park is very clean and the general population of guests are nice casual parents attentive to their children and others."
"What an awesome place!! I've heard so many good things about this park that we finally went to check it out. The splash pad is fantastic!!! And it's right across from the playground, so the kiddos can leave the water feature, run across to the playground, and when they get too hot, they can run back to the water. Park is very clean. The playground equipment is in great shape."
