"Absolutely love the paths and I have seen some form of wild life the 2 times I've been there. Will return, has easily become one of my favorite hiking spots!"
"Such a peaceful trail. The asphalt trail is super wide. Mostly shaded. There is a porta-potty half way down. The Preserve also has a short prairie trail to the left and a wooded trail to the right upon entering. Lots of water birds and other birds. You can tell the wildlife are fed because chipmunks and squirrels come right up to you. Birds perch within feet of you and don’t seem to be scared. This is good for photo opportunities. At the end there is a boardwalk to the beach. If water levels are low you can walk beach clear to lighthouse by cedar point road. I love coming to this trail. Also, this is a TRUE birding trail. I have photographed a few dozen different birds on this path. HOWEVER, mostly spring and late fall during migration. If in this area you MUST MUST go here. Asphalt path it down and back, approximately mile down and mile back. After a rain wear bug spray as it does go straight through a marsh Beautiful Nature Preserve and trail A lot of people have commented about the no pets. Reason for this, wildlife is too friendly bc someone feeds them (even though signs posted everywhere to NOT FEED WILDLIFE) lol, and they don’t want dogs attacking overly friendly wildlife. It is dogs normal nature to do this so they avoid it by saying no pets. I hope that clears up why I think no pets are allowed."
"Lovely trails, still some wildflowers in bloom, leaves dropping quite a bit. Manageable trails with short offshoots to get closer views of the marsh and the beach at the lake."
"It's a nice (long) walk to the beach, lots of interesting plants/flowers & waterfowl. There are several small paths (cut-through the tree lines) to either the lake/beach or marsh sides of the walkway. Also we found 2 viewing platforms for vistas of the largest portion of the marsh. Sadly my phone battery died ¾ of the way to the end of the walkway, so I missed taking more pics. There's 1 porta-potty & several benches to sit/rest & take in mother nature. However, overall it's a bit disappointing there were no picnic tables."
"I wish I could actually visit this place but I forget it doesn’t allow pets and my pets are almost always traveling with me so I’ve never been. I have visited the community park version of it and it’s pretty nice too. So remember NO DOGS (obviously the ban apply to service animals)"
