"The splash pad is nice if kept clean by the kids and their parents. The park is an absolute let down. It is dirty and unsafe for kids to be walking on barefooted after being on the splash pad. I wish I got a picture of the broken glass bottle that I found later while investigating. There is also lovely graffiti written and drawn around the park area… There was a woman passing out popsicles and the kids just threw their wrappers on the ground. ALL OVER. It’s just a shame to see a nice park be treated like this. If people want nice things then they need to teach their children to pick up after themselves and to take care of public property. My son really enjoyed the musical area, which projected a lovely sound! Overall - we won’t be traveling here much to say the least. We will venture to a more cleaner and safer splash pad for the summer."
"NO RECYCLING FOR PLASTIC BOTTLES - needs towel rack for drying/Cyclone Dryer (walk-In full body type of air dryer w/ Infra-red lamps, & heated dryers) similar to Cedar Points BodyDryer by the watercoasters/boat rides. Kids don’t bring suits to the park and parents don’t want their kids to get wet if they won’t be able to get dried off so most kids don’t feel comfortable disrespecting their parents instructions because they would like to return to the splash pad/park. City can make this happen or at the very least contract to have the addition built. Solar panels, efficient bulbs, strong construction & low/minimal maintenance/ no fee for use at public splash park, health and wellness management concern. Director of Safety"
"Great inclusive park and great splash pad, my toddler did well with some supervision. My only concern is with how close it all is to multiple busy roads. I think fencing in part of the area with a small fence would make this area safer for younger children. Overall though we loved it, very clean and well maintained and parking right on the street."
"This is an amazing gem for families with smaller kids. We went on a Saturday morning several weeks ago while visiting the area from out of town. There is a splash pad with a handful of great, fun water features to run through and walk under. It is turned on by a button right next to the pad so it's not wasting water all day. Right next to it is a great ground padded playground perfect for toddlers because they can climb and play without much adult supervision. There's so many neat, well-thought out features on this playground from the parent-child swing to the climbing wall/net with repelling rope - so cool! We had a blast going from the splash pad to the playground and back again. It is well done!"
"Sandusky really seems to do a nice job taking care of our parks! The new playground is wonderful, with climbing and swings available for little kids and bigs too!"
