The E. Lucy Braun Lynx Prairie Preserve, located in Lynx, Ohio, United States, is a park that was The Nature Conservancy's first preserve in Ohio. Named after the renowned botanist Dr. E. Lucy Braun, this preserve is a testament to her love for studying the flora and fauna of Adams County, Ohio. The preserve features natural grassland openings known as cedar barrens or glades, which are home to rare species like Texas sandwort and blue-hearts.
Designated a National Natural Landmark in 1967, Lynx Prairie is protected to save the best of the few remaining remnants of the once-extensive prairies of the area. The preserve offers a variety of native grasses and wildflowers for visitors to enjoy, as well as three interconnecting loop trails named Red, White, and Green. These trails provide a peaceful trek through the prairies, where butterflies like great-spangled fritillaries and swallowtails can be seen floating about.
The Nature Conservancy owns nearly 1,500 preserves covering more than 2.5 million acres across all 50 states, and encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to visit and enjoy their preserves. The organization has a zero-tolerance policy for racism and discrimination, and aims to protect the natural treasures of Ohio's Appalachian foothills. Please note that there are no facilities on the trail, and visitors are encouraged to respect the natural environment during their visit.

"A beautiful mix of forest and prairie hiking! The trails were narrow and well marked. The prairie was full of several species of butterflies, including monarch and couple species of swallowtail. If you go in the morning, I recommend grabbing a stick to knock down the spider webs blocking the trail. I ran into several face first."
"This is one of the iconic prairies of Adams County. Plan to visit anytime but late summer is High Holy Days. Easy walk, private and peaceful."
"Well marked flat and east prairie trail, full of lots of spring flowers in early May. The trails are three different loops off of what seems like one central trail. It's very diverse as it has forest, prairie and a bit of wetland . My only tip is don't stop moving in the grassy areas, the tickswere very plentiful when we returned from this hike!!"
"Beautiful patches of Prairie scattered along a hilly 1.3 mile hike. Flowers are blooming are certain times a year and in high summer it's pretty overgrown."
"Great place...little hard to find but google maps knows where it is so all you need to do is query for it in maps. Trails a series of loops so you can hike was far as you want. The trail wound through a young forest but the treasures are the prairie glades that you go through on the trail. When we're were there in June 26 the big bloomer were the Butterfly Weeds. Their a milkweed with orange flowers that are butterfly magnets. Be prepared for it to be hot... Bring lots of water. Adams county is full of great places to hike go to the nature conservancy web site and down load their pdf of Adams county trails...it's great as are the hikes!!!!!"
