"We stayed at a preferred cabin, and it was amazing! Linda at the welcome center is kind and knows exactly how to do things. She made it so easy to understand the process. The cabin has a propane fireplace and overlooks the lake. It's so warm and cozy. So thankful we picked it for our winter weekend getaway."

"Overall a really nice campground! The only up front gripe I had was that our fire pit was awkwardly far from the actual parking spot. Not sure if this is standard practice for the other spots. Nice bathhouse, friendly staff, good boat launch for kayaks but a little small and busy for a boat. The lake is huge and beautiful. We got to see a group of sail boats and lots of wildlife while kayaking/fishing. The property was well maintained and there is a small store, though it wasn’t open during our visit for some reason."

"I’ve camped here multiple times, and there are many quiet, sizable spots (which is what I look for in a campground). The grounds are also clean and well maintained. It’s one of my favorite state parks, especially in that area—close to many of the Miami Valley bike trials. I just spent the past five days at Cowan Lake and want to give a shout-out to Mark on the maintenance/grounds crew. He went above and beyond when my Jeep wouldn’t start and helped me find a good shop (Bisig) in Wilmington to help. He and others who work for the park demonstrated their kindness and conscientiousness more than once while I was there. Much appreciated!"

"This is a quiet and very well-kept place to visit or if you like to camp out. The entire park and campgrounds is maintained by an amazing group of staff members that make sure your visit is enjoyable and secure at all times. There's plenty of wildlife to capture in videos, or if you fish, this lake has enough variety to keep you satisfied. Come see for yourself. You won't be let down!"

"We stayed here with some friends a week ago and had great experience. We stayed on site 212 which was not the best site but I love that loop. There are lots of trees so you feel like you are out in nature. Our site had lots of tree roots right beside the slab that your camper gets parked on so it was not very smooth to be able to sit under our awning, but thankfully because we were with friends we spent most of the time around the communal firepit. Not a lot of campground roads to do a long cycling workout for me but there was enough for my wife to run. We never got a chance to go out for a long hike but we took a short trail to the lake for some beautiful views. It was a great campground and we will go back. The campground hosts were very helpful and always around to help."
