A section of Kendrick Woods is dedicated as a State Nature Preserve by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and it is also recognized as an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society. The park offers unique habitats for migratory birds and has been home to ten state-listed bird species.
Visitors can explore the park's diverse plant and animal species while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Shelter reservations can be made by calling 419-221-1232 or registering online. Kendrick Woods is located in Amanda Township, just 10 miles west of Lima.

"Very nice Hiking trail. 2 trails each 1 mile and a wheelchair and stroller wooden Boardwalk of .33 mile. Peaceful, Lots of squirrels and birds of many kinds. I've been there 5 or 6 times now and have also seen 3 deer on this trail. So nice to get in the woods and walk and clear your mind."
"Great trail! Easy to walk with my little ones. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the spot about halfway on the trail where there is some terrible smelling water that is also like green/grey that leaks into the creek. Maybe it's nothing but didn't let my kiddos touch it."

"If you live anywhere around Lima, get out of the house and go explore this place. It really is impressive. They have nice shelter houses with wood burning fireplaces in them, be great for fall get togethers. A nice size pond, playground, and a couple miles worth of trails to hike. Ample parking lot with room for probably 50. Wish I had more time to walk the trails the day I found the place."
