"This is a historical site and is not a public beach. The amusement-park setting was in operation from around 1920 until late 1950's. At the time of operation, there was a mile of beaches for the public to pay an admission fee to swim in the Whitewater River. There were also hand-powered rides, tennis courts, picnic area, a dance hall with bands playing, including an occasional Rosemary Clooney and Spike Jones. There was bingo, slot machines, a concession stand and company picnics. It was very common to have over a 1,000 visitors a day."
