"Disclamer: I have never been behind or late with my child support. They've tried withholding money from me when I was a minor because of similar names. Child support office only accepts phone calls Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If they are busy when you call those days, it will disconnect you so that you can call again. It even states that it the opening recording options! If that doesn't show you how big of a joke they are I don't know what will. But wait there's more! Over 4 months ago I received a letter from child support that was illegible. I called them asking what it was. It was a withholding order for my part time seasonal job that I've had for 19 years. It was already factored into the original child support order 15 years ago. They stated any time you start a new job they automatically start taking out child support. After a brief conversation they realized they made a mistake and told me they'd send a stop withholding letter. They either didn't send it or my employer didn't receive it. Either way I do not get this several thousands of dollars back. It's just considered I'm just paid ahead. And they'll figure it out when my son turns 18."
