"I thought about this before writing but I simply must share my experience. We travel to Marblehead at least once a year. It’s something my family and I look forward to. I so enjoyed supporting the small town shops. We also love to get Christmas gifts when we visit. It’s a great place to find unique things. We visited this boutique on Sunday. I visited this shop before but once I left I quickly realized why I won’t be supporting it again. The owner was extremely rude to ask the customer to hang their own garments back up on the hangers. My one card wasn’t working because I don’t have a zip attached to that card it kept getting declined. I then provided a different card and said it must be the processing system. It’s because she was physically typing the card number and and not swiping it. At which time she informed me that she charges all of her patrons the processing fee to which I was completely shocked by. She said “yes I have customers that buy thousands at a time and never complain” nor did she offer me the option to pay in cash to save the 6% upon exiting. I had voiced my frustrations to my husband, at that time he told me that last time we were in there she was rude as well. At this time I was so frustrated. I wanted to take my items back, but he had noticed that there was a sign that said all sales are final. Funny because she didn’t even mention that when I was checking out. I was able to find the same two shirts on an online boutique for half the price. So you’re marking them up that much and then on top of that you’re also charging for 6% processing when that should be taken on as a business not the customers. From now on when we visit Marblehead, we will not be visiting this boutique. There are plenty others along the strip as well as down the road. Oh I’d also like to mention that I spent over $960 at Newport Clothing company down the road! The girls there were so incredibly kind to us. You should be kind and humble for every customer who purchases some thing or just even walks in your store. It doesn’t matter how many boutiques you own whether someone is spending $10 or $1000, always be kind. Most certainly never judge a book by its cover."
