Harry Whiting Brown Community Center (HWB)

"Harry whiting Brown was established for the use of the village of glendale's residents. It is a complex of land and buildings which include the main building, the bandstand, the chapel, the scout house and all the land and parking within its boundaries. The main building includes a branch library, a ground floor apartment, and a second floor apartment. The bandstand is used for the summer concert series and other performances throughout the year. The chapel is available for rental for any type of event. The scout house is used by the scouts, is also used for various activities such as yoga, fencing, weddings, wedding receptions and any other type of gathering. There is also a children's playground benches and a grill available for public use. There are expansive lawns with beautiful landscaping for all to enjoy. Do yourself a favor and visit the Harry Whiting Brown facility in historic Glendale, Ohio. You will be glad that you did!"

"An incredible wedding or elopement location! I had the opportunity of documenting an elopement at the chapel and could not get over how beautiful it was. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. The maintenance man even set up decorations for my clients who didn't plan on having anything. Everyone was so considerate and kind! I cannot recommend this place enough."

"I used the HWB for my October wedding! The price is unbeatable and the venue sweet and personal. St. Edmund's chapel was perfect for our ceremony. It seats about 60 and there was even enough room for a pianist at the front. We had dinner on the pavilion outside of the Scout House. The HWB had more than enough tables and chairs for my event, and we brought table cloths etc. Unlike many other wedding venues, there were no vendors/caterers we were required to use. We had a food truck! We also set up a bar by the garage. The reception was in the Scout House itself. We were able to have live music, and seating in there as well. We decorated the ceiling with draped fabric and bistro lights. It is a drop ceiling, so we just bought drop ceiling clips. They had two ladders on-site. The event went wonderfully and a handful of guests helped put away tables and chairs before we left for the night. Make sure all trash gets thrown away! It was spectacular and made my wedding day wonderful"
