"Expensive for off season camping. Could be a VERY nice little camp ground if it were cleaned up and maintained. Beautiful nature surroundings and it is quiet and peaceful."

"Every year the 5th grade class graduating from Central Elementary school would take a trip to Woodland Alters. I looked forward to this all through my elementary school years. Finally, we went. I remember it like it was yesterday. We all got a Grey t-shirt that said Woodland Alters on it. I treasured that t-shirt for years. I remember that we had to eat every bite of food we took cause all the leftovers were weighed and the team with the least leftovers won. We took a field trip out to an old string bridge. I was terrified but the instructors urged us across. My memories from there are so vivid. I can't explain but this place was passage of rights for me and my friends growing up. I'm now 44 years old and a few days ago I took a delivery out in the country and saw an old white van parked nearby with the woodland alters logo on it. Brought back a flood of memories. Glad to see your still there and teaching people about the wilderness! What an awesome place!! Thank you for the memories!"
"You have to be careful not to twist an ankle.. too large of stones all over the place. The restroom had only one working toilet with a small roll of toilet paper and there are bugs all over the bathroom, so be prepared for a not-too-clean bathroom. One night stay was enough for us."
"I went to Woodland Altars my 5th and 6th grade years at St. Rita Elementary School back in the mid 80's. We went for 3 days and 2 nights and did all the things kids do at a camp like this. For ways I couldn't begin to explain this place changed my life forever. I hope Woodland Altars is always around and continues to be a special place for kids."
