The Lagoon Motordrome Historical Landmark, located at 432-460 Deverill Street in Ludlow, Kentucky, is a tourist attraction that holds a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. Once known as the Lagoon Amusement Park, this site was a major recreational center for Greater Cincinnati between 1894 and 1917. Visitors could enjoy a large lake with sandy beaches, a roller coaster over water, a carousel, a miniature railroad ride, and a bustling midway.
The park featured a variety of attractions, including a clubhouse, a dance pavilion, a merry-go-round, a Ferris wheel, a gold mine replica, an automobile ride, a circle swing, and a scenic railway. The Lagoon also hosted live productions, a moving picture theater, a vaudeville stage, and a Japanese Fair. The park's popularity grew rapidly, attracting thousands of visitors each day during the summer.
Unfortunately, a series of events between 1913 and 1920 led to the closure of the park, including a flood, a tragic motorcycle accident, a tornado, and the outbreak of World War I. Today, remnants of the Lagoon can still be found in the surrounding neighborhood, including the clubhouse, the caretaker's cottage, and hidden stairs in the woods.

"There is a gate up now and it is locked. The baseball field is still there but that’s all we were able to see."
"Okay this place is basically an overgrown baseball field in some woods and a dirt road that wraps around back to some more open area that I'm not sure who owns the property back there... Back there there was remnants of some old bottles and things like that maybe a dump site I'm not really sure. But the motor Dome did used to exist back there and if you go into the woods you can see where a marshy flat area had formed from when they demolish the motor dumb. I also think there might be some homeless Camp farther back in the woods so be careful if you go on an adventure in this area the motor Dome used to be located past the baseball field and Into the Woods it's pretty Rocky and a little crazy to hike in there so please be careful."
"If you understand the history of this place, the experience can be an awesome one. Not only was this one of the first motorcycle racing arenas ever, but beyond the gate and down a dirt road used to lie a lake. On any given night during the summer 20 to 30 thousand people would be gathered around the lake, riding the ferris wheel, playing in the Midway, riding the rollercoaster, and perhaps taking in a motorcycle race. Now the lake is just an empty field, has been drained, and there's no trace that it or the motordrome was ever here. Still worth a visit if you're in the area."
