Reviews of Dayton Scream Park
"Honestly very disappointed. I’ve been here one other time a few years ago and it was awesome. Last night, we made it there close to 11:30 so we were cutting it close, but I basically wasted $80 to not have been scared but 1-2 times. Definitely was only around maybe 15-20 actors, most broke character to talk or just simply didn’t scare you. Other times it felt like we were walking forever without anything exciting,(basically more of an obstacle course than anything) besides one time being honked by a car horn, which btw was more ear splitting than scary. The girls screeching in your face also was a little over the top and far from scary. By the middle of it we caught up to everyone so it was pointless to even be expected to be scared when your body to body with 50 people. At the end when we were exiting you could see all the actors we had just passed already outside as if they really didn’t want to still be there, which maybe would give reason to why it was so boring. If I could give it zero stars I definitely would, along with a refund for my money. Hopefully next years better, but I probably won’t be going to find out."
"Went to Dayton Scream Park tonight. I typically enjoy this one because it’s fun. Tonight however, was not fun. Parking is free at this attraction. That is awesome. Tickets are $25 general and $50 for VIP. The line looked to be about an hour long so we got VIP. What does VIP get? To skip the line. No other perks. They seem to wait about 5 minutes between groups. That’s pretty normal. The group size was roughly 20 people to the group. The actual maze is neat. Many cool scenes and opportunities for scares. Almost all the animatronics worked as they should. Please remember to limber up when you go through as you will be needing to duck pretty low and many tight spaces. The length of the maze is very nice. There are several ramps and steps. The actors, how can I say this nicely? There was a small few that were actually trying. The guy in the green fog room was the best in the maze. Saw many of the actors from the advertising video and they were standing around talking to each other or made small talk with some of the guest. The gal in the camper with an actual newborn baby was a thing. No real costume, no attempt at a scare, just sitting holding a newborn. Not sure a haunt with all the loud noises and strangers in a confined space is the best place for a new born. At the end of the day, this haunt is a pass this year. It was 100% better last year. Hopefully it will be better next year."
"I can’t believe that reading some of the reviews people were actually scared because to us there was nothing scary about it. It was not a haunted house or “scream” park. It was more like a good maze. If you want to take younger kids for their first time, this would be a good one to take them to. Definitely not worth the money we paid."
"Long review ahead: This is not a place where there are other things going on outside of the haunted house so immediately upon arrival you are in line for the attraction itself. The line can definitely take a while but I believe the length of the park is totally worth it. There were some actors interacting with the people in line and keeping everyone excited. Upon entering my first thought was “does anyone work here” I think the beginning was lacking some actors as we could see them running back and forth to meet back up with our group through the twists and turns. The further we got into it the better it got, lots of very good props and the actors were funny and scary. I don’t think it would be good for children as there are some parts where the walking conditions are a little sketchy but I think that added to the overall vibe and it helped to slow groups down as to not bump into each other. Every time I thought we were at the end we were starting a whole new adventure which I really enjoyed. As someone who loves haunted houses this was LONG and definitely worth it. My friend even said they were tired of walking by the end of it. There were some great odes to the classic scary movies which I loved and have never seen done in any other haunted house. I was excited walking past a sign that said we were entering Texas and walking through a van cut in half with the lady sitting in the back seat who no longer had brains. I immediately recognized this as Texas chainsaw massacre which was super exciting because I knew chainsaws were coming. Overall this place was great and definitely worth the money, giving four stars because I feel like a little more could have been done to keep the outside line entertained as the wait was pretty long."
"I was really impressed for the screen part. The line wasn't that long so I didn't have to bring for the VIP. But if you don't feel like waiting it's not bad for the price to upgrade your ticket. If I had one complaint it would be some of the attractions through the walk was not occupied with anyone. But I do understand that happens. But I still recommend this haunted attraction."
