"I have been going to Sycamore State Park since I was 19 and they used to keep the trails clear between Seibold and Nolan roads open for hunting and hiking, however they seem to have stopped making it accessible through the woods and a few fields ! Going through Seibold to Nolan roads is next to impossible because of the trees have taken over the only trails that used to be maintained. When Allen McCabe was the General manager he kept the trails going up to the power lines and towards Nolan road iopen . Now it's pitiful. I've noticed that few people are hunting these areas like they have in the past, several people told me that it's a shame that they have ignored the place that used to be open to the general public."
"There are lots of trails here however, they aren't marked well, at all. It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't a lot of offshoots on the trails that aren't on the maps, so it can get a bit confusing as far as that goes. The trails seem to not have a ton of variety. Another downside is they allow hunting here, which is kinda creepy being a hiker. There are tons and tons of birds here, more than most other state parks. Overall it's alright, but I probably won't come back to this one given that Ohio has 75 state parks and this one didn't overwhelm me."
"Lots of old sycamore maples and pines. Thick with undergrowth and honeysuckle along the trails. There are a few steep portions on the trails. Fortunately, most have stairs. May not be the best on wet days. There are three loops with upper and lower components bordering a stream. The area crosses three roads which were not too busy. There are plenty of location markers to find your way. Horse trails cross the hiking. A good hike. Plan to go back in the winter and spring."
"Great trails to get a good long hike in. Varying terrain to keep it fun. Most are along a creek, and there's a lot of different foliage. Lots of benches to rest. Picnic areas, playground and rest rooms."
