National Museum of the Great Lakes

"I’ve lived in Ohio my entire life and I knew very little about our Great Lakes! What a fabulous museum! The history and displays and everything about this place is incredible! We didn’t plan properly and couldn’t go on the freighter or tug boat, so that just gives us just cause to go back!!! Definitely worth the reasonable ticket price! Fun little souvenir area as well. Very clean museum, lots of parking, bathrooms very well maintained and the grounds are very well kept! Fun for all ages!!"

"The museum is full of interesting facts about all the Great Lake. Artifacts and story boards of numerous ships and shipwrecks are a look back in time. We liked the interactive displays, which included controlling a video drive on the Edmond Fitzgerald. It takes an hour or two to checkout all the displays. The outdoor ship tours are seasonal. We visited in December but will plan a return trip to check out the freighter."

"Wonderful museum! The highlight being the freighter docked alongside that is included with museum admission. Such a treat to wander all over the ship! The best experience was encountering former ship pilots who offered personal stories and insights on what it was like to work on these Great Lakes freighters!"

"It is a very informative museum, lots of displays, and a plus is the tug and freighter to tour!! As a sailor, diver, and a lifetime on Lake Erie, I really enjoyed my visit! A bonus was that one of the freighter guides was a tug crewman!"
