"I struggled to find an employee to get help with finding an item. I was also trying to buy a Christmas garland, only to discover at the register that the price tag fell off. So I asked for a price check, only to find out that other garlands that I got it from didn't have a price as well and they wouldn't sell it, I suggested scanning something similar, but they refused. It's bad business to put an item out without a price tag or have it blocked off."
"Nice selection of home goods and seasonal decor."
"Decent store but there were a number of empty shelves. The employee at checkout was friendly."
"We had a bad experience at this Old Time Pottery location today. We have shopped an Old Time Pottery location in Orlando for years and have loved their selection and service. We were excited to find this location in Cincinnati and to plan for our indoor and outdoor spaces as Spring blooms around us! Sadly, this was a very frustrating experience today. We shopped for a while and had picked up a mirror, two tables, and some accessories when we spotted a bench on display that we thought would be great for our porch. There was only one boxed bench left. I retrieved a large cart but as I picked up the box to load it to the cart, I realized the bottom had been torn open and parts started to shift and fall out. My wife and I looked for another box, but the only bench left was the one on display. I returned the cart but then wondered if we could purchase the display bench. I went to the service counter and explained the situation with the damaged box. I asked if the display bench was available for sale. The clerk contacted a manager and I was told that it was. I went back to load it. As I was pulling up a cart to load the bench, the service clerk approached and asked which bench. We pointed out the damaged box and where it was torn open with parts falling out. She replied, "That doesn't mean that all the parts aren't there", and said we could not purchase the display bench. My wife and I were told that the manager's decision had changed and that if we wanted to purchase the bench we would need to purchase the one in the damaged box. I didn't want to purchase an item in a damaged and open box. How do I know the parts are all there? I didn't want to make the purchase, drive home, attempt to assemble it, and discover that the parts were missing or damaged. That's a hassle I don't want. The service clerk walked away. The conversation was polite, but disappointing. After discussing it with my wife, we became frustrated and decided not to purchase anything from this Old Time Pottery location. We were prepared to spend several hundred dollars but instead we left without purchasing anything. The decision, and the revision to that decision, belonged to the manager. I struggle to make sense of the reversal to the manager's decision. There are many other places to purchase the items we had selected, including online retailers. We went into the store out of a feeling of brand loyalty and sentiment, but weren't treated very well. We have very fond memories of shopping Old Time Pottery in Orlando. We arrived at this Cincinnati location feeling excited at the selection and how we might decorate our home. We left feeling frustrated and unhappy. Again, we love Old Time Pottery, but we'll just shop elsewhere when we're in Cincinnati and only shop Old Time Pottery in Orlando from now on."
