"The Center is an awesome organization that provides so much for the community. It is also a great place to rent if you need an affordable space for events."
"The Fourteenth Street Community Center is a place of safety and community and family. They care deeply about the welfare of all children. It is a place where everyone is welcome. The programs are inclusive. The opportunity is endless. The center is forever growing and planning."
"This is the only center for children and even family's in Portsmouth and I think it's amazing the work they do for the community. If only more people would step up and take a part in making Portsmouth a better place, maybe Portsmouth wouldn't be known as a drug haven, instead be known as a city that cares."
"The wait is long but if you need the help they are there. They help the community if they need it but we all know that there are a lot of people out there that take advantage of it and get it. But it is called Community Action for a reason. Thank you for helping the community and thank you to the men and women that work there that have to put up with the folks who think they are entitled to everything that is free in life."
"It's a great program for youths in the summer. Unfortunately, I withdrew my son due to the amount of bullying that goes on there. He was singled out by a volunteer youth worker that made fun of his weight as well as his race. It's a shame, really is. Because Portsmouth needs a program like this. I don't want to see it go away, but they need to be more cautious as to who they let volunteer there. Some kids get afraid to tell, simply cuz they don't want the bullying to be worse than it is. Once again, not putting the program down. The idea of the program is great. But BULLYING should be an ABSOLUTE NO, and not prohibited."
