"We loved the play and the actors. Wednesday's child was the best."
"Has to be one of the best amateur playhouses in the country. Consistently strong performances. We buy season tickets every year, as we have for many years."
"I really enjoyed the August Wilson play performance. The actors were well rehearsed. Thought I was watching an A list show."
"Another theatre gem in the "Gem City"! We happened upon an advertisement for the Dayton Theatre Guild in a Downtown Dayton events website/email--a wonderful find! Attended a play this weekend--easy location (Wayne Avenue, near myriad, multiple places to eat, drink, shop--close to Ghost Light Coffee, Branch & Bone, Belle of Dayton Distillery, right close to the Oregon District) with good-sized parking lot behind the building. Also, plenty of street parking nearby as well. Functional, but not fancy entryway, leads back to the stage area--intimate, but not cramped. The 121-seat theatre has seating on 3 sides of the stage area, similar to CATCO in Columbus. However, the seats are quite comfortable, and every seat has a spectacular view of the performances at hand. Funny, poignant, thought-provoking works are on display here, with 1-5 actors/actresses presenting memorable performances for novice theatre-goer and established patrons of the arts. Tickets can be purchased online or in-person, and seating is first come, first serve (getting there a bit early ensures one can get the best seat they prefer; however as mentioned above ALL the seats are superb). Looking forward to the next performance, and we're going to purchase season tickets IOT attend next year's performances at this 75-year old, hometown theatre company. Truly a gem in the Gem City!"
"What a wonderful small theater. It was such a quality show and because it's small, we felt like we were part of it. There were many scene changes in the production we saw and they pulled it off beautifully. You can tell they really care and that they put a lot of effort into it. Can't wait to come back."
