"On a winter evening, it felt great to walk into Gretel. The impressive bar and dark ambiance was warm and welcome. Large and open inside, my table was in a perfect location away from the front door yet close enough to the bar. Food was very good...particularly the mac and cheese...SO good! "Food was delicious and service was solid! Good beer selection as well. The burger was juicy and the perfect size, the Mac and cheese was outrageously good and very gooey. Would highly recommend the burger and Mac and the ribs as an app. Only thing wasn’t blown away by was the old fashioned. Lots of ice instead of one big cube and taste was just ok. For $15 I expected more for the cocktail. Perhaps try a different one."

It is dimly lit inside, but I liked the vibes. My partner got the lobster roll and didn't think the size of it justified the price, but he still enjoyed it."

"This is our go-to place for meeting and catching up. The bar is just gorgeous. It’s dimly lit with dark colors that enhance the ambiance. Come early if you enjoy a quieter atmosphere and come after 7:30 if you prefer being around more people. I’ve had almost everything on the menu at this point and everything is wonderful. We keep coming back for the French onion soup though, which is so good we routinely order it twice."
