Benihana

"My friend and I came in tonight to eat around 730pm. We were told it was a 30 minute wait, which was fine. They were obviously busy. But then my friend and I along with 5 other people at the table were made to wait over an hour after ordering for someone to come over and cook! There was no reason for waiting that long as the place was clearing out and less busy. I truly believe if someone from our table had not gotten up and talked to a worker, we would have sat there much longer. The food was subpar at best. The cook was more worried about hearing himself talk than listening to what all of us wanted or what we were trying to tell him. The fried rice had barely any flavor. The zucchini didn't taste right, like it was undercooked and under seasoned. The shrimp had way too much lemon on it and it was over powering. The filet mignon looked like it had been run over several times, and after he cooked it, it looked like something you would find in a cheese steak, not nice juicy cubes. The chicken was under seasoned. I told the cook two times I didn't want any onions and he still put a pile of them on my plate, which I then had to pick off. His only "trick" was a lame attempt at a volcano. From watching him cook, I wouldn't be surprised if he came from Waffle House as his cooking style was very similar. Halfway through his cooking it seemed like he just wanted to get it over with and leave. Honestly, so did my friend and I and 3 other people at our table. In fact the 3 women next to us didn't even want their meal cooked, they just wanted their bill. They tried to tell the cook and he wouldn't listen. He instead insisted they wait and he would make them fried rice. They didn't even want it and offered it to my friend and I. The last time I was here on my birthday two years ago, I was told to leave because I refused to wear a mask just to walk 20 feet and be seated by total strangers who weren't wearing a mask. How idiotic do you have to be to enforce such craziness? I said I'd never be back after that experience, but after never even getting an apology from Benihana after I contacted them several times, the experience we just had, and reading others reviews, I'll be giving my money to other Japanese steakhouses."

"Jerry was phenomenal!! He was charismatic and engaging! I appreciated the attention he paid to myself and my mom for her birthday! And every morsel of my meal was a delightful dance to my taste buds! 10/10! And Maddi was very attentive. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the time we left, our interactions with EVERY staff member felt warm and welcoming!! Good job on these new employees. I’ve been a customer for 17 years and this was the absolute greatest service I have ever received!!!"
