Reviews of UH Rainbow Pediatricenter
"Although my review is not from recent visits, I cannot recommend anyone at Pediatric Center (aside from Dr. Zach at Chagrin). In all things in life, I believe honesty is the best policy and this is not what I experienced here. I was also turned off by the prescribing medications at times where nature could run its course and treating symptoms instead of searching for root causes. Once I was even shamed for opting out of a flu shot. Ultimately for our family, it was not a good healthcare partnership. If you are told that shots are (required) before kindergarten or that your child won’t be able to go without them, rest assured, Ohio is a right to choose state. This is not a lie I take lightly and the truth allows an informed consent, something that I was denied. Good luck."
"We love Dr. Rich. The staff is wonderful. Never have to wait. Even on an emergency Saturday appointment we were welcomed and treated quickly."
"I thought this was a good place for my kids but after today I am just pretty fed up. I had called and made appointments for both of my kids to get their check up and flu shots, specifically remembering that they couldn't schedule them both on the same day (Which was fine, not a big deal.) So I had verified the day and time with them... The day of one of my son's appointment I had called and they had said that my son wasn't suppose to be there that day and that they were both having their check up on the same day. This is while we were waiting outside in the car to go into his appointment. She gave no explanation and no one had made a phone call verification or text notification a head of time of our appointment. I don't drive so I had to make an arrangement to be able to have someone watch my other son and be able to take my son and I to our appointment. Just really disappointed with how they did things and handled things."
"Was referred here when my child’s nearby pediatrician’s office closed. I did not have a great experience and felt as though I had been treated like an idiot (I suspect it was because they get a lot of patients on government sponsored healthcare— which we aren’t, we’re on an employer sponsored plan but that shouldn’t matter anyway). I had also noticed pharmaceutical reps in patient areas on more than one occasion. Even after signs were put up saying for reps to stay out of patient areas! They’re also more than happy to give new patients (with infants) a ‘gift bag’ and parenting book directly from a big pharma company! It’s absolutely ridiculous to me and completely unnecessary as there are plenty of books they could purchase to give patients that aren’t printed and provided by big pharma. My husband had to come with me to each appointment so the doctor would treat me somewhat respectfully. We tried two separate doctors of two different genders and ages but both tried to use fear tactics on me to abstain from breastfeeding after 1 year instead of switching to cows milk and they also seemed to treat me weirdly because I used cloth diapers (almost as though they thought I must have been very financially unstable since I did both). I felt very uncomfortable every time I went in with my child for a check up (she never went in for a sick visit). They also harassed me about vaccinations and Pediatricenter wanted to readminister vaccinations that they didn’t believe my child had received. Despite my best efforts to show my own meticulous records (and not to mention our insurance company) and my insistence that l had in fact been present for each and every vaccination that my daughter had received, they did not relent in pushing for her to get secondary doses. They completely disregarded me when I told them that it was simply a matter of the old pediatrician’s office closing very aburptly before my child’s last vaccinations could be appropriately and accurately logged in the system. All they cared about was giving her vaccines that I knew she had already received so it would be complete in the (CDC?) system. Maybe it’s just me, but that seems like a terrible idea to double up on vaccine doses! Bottom line: we didn’t last at this office for long. The supporting staff was fine and very kind, but we just couldn’t stand the doctors. The worst of whom in our opinion was an older female. We’ll always miss our original pediatrician that we carefully chose before our child’s birth but now love going to Senders Pediatrics as they’re very respectful, kind and have lauded us on our decisions such as ‘extended breastfeeding’ and cloth diapering/early potty teaching (we’ve also still never had our child get so sick as to need to go to the pediatrician’s office or Urgent care, etc her immune system is strong and capable). And we’ve also never seen any pharma reps at Senders Pediatrics! They also have never tried to scare us into changing our minds on anything which we’ve committed."
