"Top breast surgeon. Very strong resume. Super attention to detail and options for the patient. Expect very direct and clear discussions. She means business against cancer!"
"Dr Wexelman has been my surgeon for 2 years. She is honest, forthright, and always met me where my head-space was in facing breast cancer. She linked me up with other cancer patients for peer support, she clearly (and visually - which was great for me) explained all the treatment options and process for getting to the treatments. When in the hospital it was lovely to see her on rounds. It was like having a friend come visit in the hospital. Her communication with my plastic surgeon (for reconstruction) was great, and I felt well taken care of. As I continue to see her each year with my mammogram, I consider that part of my visit the prize for having got through the mammogram. I highly recommend Dr Wexelman as a great surgeon, and a doctor with excellent bed-side manner."
"Today I had my two year check up with Dr. Wexelman, happy to say everything is going great. A little over two years ago I was faced with some of the scariest news I have ever had to deal with. I'm a mother 41 years old of three 22,12,9 at the time and was a brand new grandma. I was kinda numb...not really sure of anything at the time. She took the time to go over every option I had called and talked to me when I was unsure she was incredible. April 19, 2016 I had a lumpectomy to remove the cancer and an area of concern that she just did not feel comfortable leaving thank goodness because that was also cancer and she also found another area that never showed up on ultrasound, mammogram or MRI. Not saying another Dr. Would have not done the same but I had her and she was outstanding. June 22, 2016 I underwent a double mastectomy with immediate DIEP reconstruction I could not be happier with my decision and she was there every step of the way. Each and everyday I am happy that I had her by my side through this crazy journey I was put on."
"Very rude and uncaring. Lumpectomy was done with supposed 1week recovery 3 weeks later I’m still having problems. Tried to get her to help figure out why I was in pain she told me there’s no infection so I guess since she can’t see a reason on the outside I must be lying. Told me to go see pain management doctor. Your surgeon is the one who is supposed to be there to help no other doctors want to step in when she should have been the one to work with me. No offer of help with maybe muscle relaxers or something she assumed all I wanted was pain meds. No what I wanted was a doctor who cares enough to help. Breast cancer is not something you want to hear that you have it’s scary and believe me find a good surgeon who cares about your fears and pain. Dr. Wexelman is not that doctor"
