"Ohio guidestone hires people with criminal records. They hire family members of the clients they see and allow them to access patient records. Specifically, in our case, Ohio Guidestone hired the grandmother of our daughter. Allowed the grandmother to access our daughters mental health records and send them to other people. She took screenshots of our daughters health records and used them for personal gain. What is the purpose of HIPAA? Ohio guidestone believes they are not to be held accountable. The person they employed was Mary Amber Harris. Mary Amber Harris was able to go get other mental health related jobs after being relieved of this one. While she was fired, it is still incredible heartache to us and our daughter that her own family member was hired by her mental health provider and they had no safety measures in place to protect her therapy notes and information. Shame on Ohio Guidestone and Shame on Mary Amber Harris."

"I was at this place when it was called berea childrens home in berea ohio from 1999 to 2001 it wasn't easy but I know it could have been worse , I got to do alot of things ropes course, Cleveland Indians games , mallys chocolate factory, I was hard head kid but Mr Johnson helped me in bf cottage Mrs Jennifer Yates in lang and Mrs India Ashley , all I can say is now that I'm 33 looking back I realize they were trying to help me , I learned a lot , I can't speak on how it is now I just know how it was then bf was phase 1 and lang was phase 2 then there ml and crossman for older boys Walker was the girls rtc was lockdown and step was I believe special needs i may be wrong"

"Took in a foster/adoptive placement and was told our child was receiving services at the Clague office. Showed up for his first appointment, missing school, and was told his psychiatrist left the practice. Kept him home a couple weeks later for the rescheduled appointment at the same location, and received a text from his therapist that the nurse practitioner they scheduled him with was out sick and I would need to reschedule - again. While rescheduling I was told that the OGS psych couldn’t see him for several weeks out, and that they couldn’t renew his prescription (that they themselves had prescribed to him) until he was seen in-person. They also said we’d have to go to an ever further location because nothing was available at that location. In the meantime, I was able to call Cleveland Clinic, get an actual person on the phone, and get our so in with a psychiatrist for virtual appointment the very next morning. The OGS scheduler finally returned my call and got pissy with me on the phone. She said I had to cancel my appointment with Cleveland Clinic and go to their super far location 5 weeks from now or they would closed out his case. They couldn’t even give him a script renewal for one more month. They are impossible to schedule with, unwilling to help with finding a closer location, and quite frankly do not care about their patients at all. Very disappointed in OGS Psych services and scheduling to say the least."

"Employees/future employees beware of the consequences working for this business. At any time an incident happens among the adolescents, YOU will be the one held accountable. You WILL be the one with the record, charged with assault, neglect or severe neglect. From that, termination and disqualification of future employnent opportunities within certain fields of interest. Majority of the unfortunate situations that bring the youth into this facility are above and beyond any training they provide. Having to be only 21 years of age to work there does not make you fit for the role and incredible responsibility they put on you. Some of the kids are coming from juvenile incarceration, important "need to know" information held from staff, violence from adolescents against personnel, a lack of supervisor intelligence and the children in need of much more appropriate care. The company basically hires babysitters instead of qualified personnel, the pay is low too. These kids are in need of and deserving of much more and the staff doesn't deserve to have things on their record preventing them from pursuing the futures they hoped for. They DO NOT inform you of this in training."

"i was sent here when i was 12 years old and i absolutely need to tell my story because this was possibly the worst experience of my life. i was put in Crossman cottage after a suicide attempt. the first night i was there a girl said she didn’t want to eat because she was sick, and they sent her to the hospital to get a tube. mind you all the other girls, and even some staff confirmed that she had been eating just fine before then and it was absolutely not necessary. a girl named Tiana was 19 years old and working at our cottage, all of the workers were inexperienced people who were working for the paycheck. A 17 year old girl who had autism among other mental illnesses had been there for two years and the staff would tell her everyday how much they hated her and wish that she would just leave. there was multiple girls there for anger issues and the staff allowed these girls to beat up on the 17 year old with no consequences. a girl that was only 9 had told me that her mother would do unspeakable and disgusting things to her at a young age and she peed the bed every night because of it. the staff would punish her and send her to solitary every single time. boys and girls couldn’t be in the same cottage but at the school they could. a boy grabbed me and other girls in way that i hate to talk about, we told staff multiple times and they did nothing about it. i have so many more stories about this place but in conclusion, PLEASE dont do this to your kids."
