"My ex & I were originally seen in Medina in 2009, my daughters & I were seen in Akron in 2016. In 2020 my daughter needed care & we saw a provider in Medina. At that time I was remarried so I changed all contact info. Now I have attempted to seek care for my daughter again & was told by the office that my daughter was not seen since 2016 & that I had a balance due on my account. I was told by the billing rep that in 2016 my daughters account was under her name. However, when I requested a copy of the invoice (because I had never seen it), it was under my name prior to my marriage - as the insurance was also in my name. There was also an old address associated with the account. When my daughter had care in 2020 I updated all of my contact information including new last name, address, email, phone number etc. That said, if they did not update their records accordingly & instead created a new account in 2020 not linked to the old account, that is not my concern or my problem. I had never received a bill nor was this mentioned when my daughter got care in 2020. I asked for a copy of the invoice to be sent to me. It was sent via a portal that required a login w/DOB, name. I tried to login with both my DOB & my daughters DOB, neither one worked. I had to contact the office again to ask for the invoice to be sent as a pdf. It was sent to me & I did explain to the office that I would be happy to pay the past due balance but due to the issues on their end involving this that i would not be paying any past due/collection fees, this was never resolved by them & a manager never called me back. The invoice also had no past due fees so I thought this was resolved. I tried to call today to pay the bill & the same rep I spoke to said no, that the fees still applied & that she would send me a new bill. She never discussed with a manager or had one call me, I requested a call with a manager again & received no response. Additionally, the billing rep was very rude & hung up on me when I requested contact info re; the manager."
"office staff is beyond rude and never answer the phone during business hours.would not recommend. please go somewhere else. the "therapist" lacked empathy and said nothing. provided zero counseling or advice after multiple sessions. Blamed me for her offices inabilty to provide instructions for zoom conference. only asked where i lived 5 times after reviewing her notes. the calls cut you off after 45 minutes even if you are talking. this is not mental health it is a money grab. i implore you to look elsewhere if you want actual assistance."
"I have been working with Kim Kahelin for over 2 years. I experienced postpartum depression with my first 2 children and tried counselors at different practices after having both of them. I never stuck with anyone longer than a few sessions because I didn't feel comfortable with them or that they fully understood what I was feeling, but I have been comfortable with Kim from the first few minutes of our first session. I can honestly say I wouldn't have been able to get through my third pregnancy and postpartum period without her. I could tell from the first time we spoke that she has studied and is so knowledgeable about PPD, and that has helped me immensely in my life as a mother. Each session, she actively listens to me and helps me process what I'm feeling, puts things in perspective, and gives practical advice on how to deal with my emotions. I'm also so thankful that she offers virtual sessions that I can attend from the comfort of my home."
"The counseling I receive here is decent quality but, at the same time, I do not think my particular counselor is very professional. I am oblivious on how to sign up for new session using the “Breeze” app and all of my previous sessions were set up for me. I was charged a 100$ fee for not cancelling an appointment, even though I told my counselor that I was not going to be available on a particular date and he scheduled a session anyway. He also promised me that he would never charge me a cancellation fee. I told him about it nearly a month ago and nothing has been done about it. It is really sad because I was enjoying my experience and starting to make positive steps in my life. Being treated like this is just another reminder that it is all in vain."
"Had a great experience at Avenues with Diane. We saw her for academic testing, she is so easy to talk to which made my son so at ease with the process. She provided some great insights and resources that have helped my son make major improvements. Would definitely recommend Avenues."
