"Enjoyed our stay. Slept terrifically on comfortable beds. Great service in the bar. Best breakfast buffet. The only negative is the cashless policy."
"Stayed here previously and have loved it, but disappointed that the pool has limited hours. It doesn't make sense to me that this is a "resort" that I'm paying more than 100 dollars for, but the pool opens at noon and closes at 8. Check out time is at 11, and check in time is at 3, so if you're staying one night you might as well just not even think about the pool because you won't be able to use it."
"We stopped by 2 days before Christmas to check out decorations & have a drink. We did not get a room so have no input about room accommodations. Sawmill Creek is VERY dated. It feels run down & neglected & just didn't seem very clean. It's now owned by Cedar Point & it shows with tacky decor. While we were there they had a cute/cheesy Christmas program which was enjoyable. The performers were good (think amusement park live shows) & we would recommend if they do it again in the future. It was very family-friendly. The biggest disappointment was how insanely rudely we were treated by the bartender working in the upstairs rotunda bar that evening. She was an older lady who was nasty from the start. We were greeted with a smirk & were told she'd be with us when she was done waiting on her customers. Okay. We looked over the "special" holiday menu & were going to order a martini (which was HORRIBLE btw). She was making one for her customers & I mentioned we were going to order one too. She snapped. She told us she'd make mine separately because people change their minds about their orders all the time, whatever that means. We were like "Okaaay?" So we finally get the gross drink & pay & this lady flipped out because we had forgotten they don't take cash & were told that "Cedar Fair is cashless" & rolled her eyes. We paid with a card, tipped a fiver on the worst martini ever so we could be done with this. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't know, or care, but I do know she needs to pull her hair up to work in food and beverage service. Should you check it out at Christmas time? The lights aren't nearly as impressive as they used to be. I guess it's worth it once."
"Visiting Sawmill Creek during the holidays is fun. The entertainment is top-notch. The fireplace rooms add warmth and ambiance to your stay. The Miller's Table is an excellent restaurant for dinner. Both the pork chop and short rib were wonderful choices. I would pass on the buffet breakfast next time. It's overpriced for what you get. Overall, we enjoyed our stay."
"Hotel is beautiful. Liked it before Cedarpoint bought it out. Been going there for years and the original hotel had a very unique wilderness motif. The bear rugs, the lions and bears are all gone. Ambiance is different. No coffee makers in the rooms. You are forced to buy coffee at the Starbucks by the pool or go to the breakfast buffet for a full meal. I have never been to a hotel/resort without a coffee maker in the room"
