"Dr. Brian Jolitz has been my doctor since 2011 (9 years). He literally saved my life on multiple occasions. I have PCOS, Anemia and Endometriosis. The first time I met him I was sent to him during an emergency when I was hemorrhaging and couldn't stop. I went into kidney failure and he performed an emergency exploratory surgery to find out what was going on inside me. He had to do extensive explorations, removal of endometriosis, he had to take steps to stop the hemorrhaging with very little time to fully comprehend my history leading up to this experience since I had not been his patient until that emergency surgery moment when he had to act fast to prevent me from multi-system organ failure as a result of kidney failure. I didn't know anything about him other than he was highly recommended by a nurse who was trying to help me in the ER. Dr. Jolitz did extensive testing, took internal pictures of everything so he could later explain everything to me and I could literally follow along in the pictures to comprehend what he was seeing and experiencing during my surgery. I was VERY GRATEFUL he had these pictures, it made me feel very safe and cared for. He was able to clearly point out what was wrong, why it was happening to me and how he had taken steps to stop it from causing further life threatening harm. He was cautious, detailed, descriptive, kind, attentive, focused on providing the best care as efficiently as possible. I trusted him with my life in that moment, I had never experienced that kind of trust in a doctor before. I later experienced a similar circumstance and he had to surgically intervene again several years later. This time he was forthright that I needed to begin considering a hysterectomy to prevent further scares. I refused for the second time. I understood why he was forthright about it, but I just couldn't even consider the possibility of giving up becoming a mother one day. I sometimes feel slightly awkward refusing a hysterectomy, but I just cannot bring myself to do it. Not yet. I have recently turned 40 years old, I married three years ago to a wonderful husband I love very much and we are trying to get pregnant...but it isn't working...I'm sad and frustrated...and I don't feel like I can go to Dr. Jolitz and talk about this easily. He did offer me a referral to a specialist who deals with high risk obstetrics and gynecology issues so I could try to pursue my dream of becoming a mother...he wasn't convinced it was safe and he didn't want to take on the risk. I respect his concerns. For the last three years I have been patient, taking it one day at a time, trying to stay positive and just wait for it to happen naturally. I'm getting to the point where I'm considering the idea of "letting go," of ever becoming a mother. I think maybe continuing to be destroyed emotionally every month when I'm disappointed is just too much to deal with. Maybe I need to face I won't have children and just "let go," of the one dream I always had since I was young. I'm resentful and angry that nature is not offering me any hope at all. I'm going to contact the specialist Dr. Jolitz referred me to, just to see if there's any hope at all. If not, then I'm going to accept the hysterectomy Dr. Jolitz has been recommending to me for nine years. You can trust and respect Dr. Jolitz. He is direct, focused, attentive, patient...( maybe not so tolerant of ideas he doesn't approve of, but he won't prevent you from making your own decisions. He is a father figure, helpful and supportive when you need someone decisive and strong to rely on. I never hesitated to trust Dr. Jolitz even when I first met him in an emergency situation. he put me at ease and assured me he would figure out what was wrong and fix it. You can take a deep breath, relax and TRUST in Dr. Jolitz."
