Reviews of Wildwood Cultural Center & Park
"I am devastated after reserving this venue over a month in advance for my mother's celebration of life and barely getting into the venue 5 minutes before the celebration was scheduled to start. There was no time for set up prior to people arriving for the event. I purposefully booked the venue from 12 to 4 and set the event for 1-3 to give us an hour before and after to set up and clean up. What was a once in a lifetime event was ruined because the building was not unlocked as I was advised it would be at the time of our reservation. To make things worse, because it was a Sunday I could not reach anyone with Wildwood or the city of Mentor to help us. I stood outside the venue in 30 degree weather for almost an hour in total panic and tears because I could not get in or get ahold of anyone to help. I called and emailed and still have not received a response to the email I sent Sunday when I was panicking trying to find help to get in and get set up. It was an out of state relative who got ahold of someone at Mentor parks and rec to help get us into the building. An hour into our event I was greeted by 2 people with Wildwood, I think or maybe the city of Mentor Parks and Rec. I am not sure because of my fluster and anxiety over the whole situation I didn't even get a contact name or number. They did however apologize and offer to give us an extra hour to make up for the delay and credit the hour we weren't able to get in. They also said someone would contact me after the holiday to discuss the incident and it is now Wednesday evening and all I've gotten is a receipt for the security deposit and one hour credit. No message. No call. No apology. It's truly disappointing. While I am grateful for the credit, it does not make up for the event being thrown into chaos. Instead of getting closure like I was hoping to with this event, I am left feeling disappointed and like I wish I could redo it the way I had imagined. Instead of enjoying the event I was left anxious and a mess. I am beyond depressed and don't want anyone to ever have to go through what my family and I did."
"I went on a chilly fall day, but the grounds are well-kept, the manor is attractive, and the wildlife is beautiful. I live on the west side (50 minutes away), but this location is 30 minutes away from Downtown. I will be back."
"Very pretty and relaxing place to stop off route 90."
"It's our community garden. Plots for organic available. $35 per plot per year. There is a requirement to actually work on the garden 2 hours a month."
"My family and I have attended 2events, the Halloween, and Santa Workshop. We really enjoyed both events. I gave it 5 stars, but one complaint I have was at the Santa's workshop. I loved the organization and all the activities at the event... However, they totally left the parents/adults out. They didn't provide any snacks or extra Cookies for the parents, they didn't even have water. I asked my assigned helper Elf for a bottle of water, and he can back empty handed, and said they didn't have any ☹️. Other than that my Son and Nephew had a blast at both events."
