Originally known as the Parkside Drive-In Movie Theater, this historic venue holds a special place in American history and has been preserved by the nonprofit organization Save Our Screen, Inc.
Established in 2022, Save Our Screen, Inc. was created to ensure that future generations could enjoy the magic of the drive-in movie experience. Despite facing challenges such as costly repairs and legal battles with a former operator, the nonprofit worked tirelessly to keep the Parkside Drive-In alive.
Unfortunately, due to ongoing obstacles and circumstances, Save Our Screen has made the difficult decision not to reopen the Parkside for the upcoming season. "Really awesome drive in. You don't get to see a lot of these any more and it's fun to take the kids and watch them enjoy the experience. They get to run around in the grass and play while waiting for the movie, then usually the kids or family movie plays first and when they are all tuckered out and sleeping the more adult movie comes on for you and your significant other. I grew up coming here, my kids grew up coming here and I hope some day my grand kids can as well. The facility is generally clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly and the prices cant be beat."
