"Doctor is nice and knowledgeable, but the office wait is disrespectfully slow. Staff are loud, and also laughing and talking the entire time I was there. I waited an hour and a half before I was serviced."

"One of the worst OBGYN appointments I’ve had so far was with Dr Melton. I’m shocked she has any good reviews. Her and her medical assistant Tinisha gave me attitude and the worst bedside manner the entire appointment. I originally came for an IUD insertion, well she tells me I can’t have that because I need a cervical biopsy procedure done first and we should do that today instead. (Also I should add miss Tinisha gave me attitude when she said I shouldn’t have come to get an IUD unless I was on my period. Which no one told me that when I scheduled the appt,) Whatever I decide to just do that biopsy. I asked about pain management because it’s an invasive procedure and I have a lot of OBGYN trauma, which we had just discussed. Cue more attitude and gaslighting from the both of them, telling me it’s not a big deal, it’ll be over quick and they don’t do pain management for it. I advocated for myself and said I will not be doing the procedure without some pain management after Tinisha comes in irritated and says “the doc wants to know if you’re doing this or not because you’ve already been here longer than you should have your appointment was 15 min you’ve been here an hour.” Mind you I stood at the desk for 10 min waiting for the receptionist to get off the phone and check me in. Then I sat in the waiting room for another 15 min until they called me back. And it was Dr Melton who told me to get the biopsy today instead. And they act like IM the problem. Finally Dr Melton agrees to give me the paracervical block I asked for, and she doesn’t even give it anytime to kick in before starting the procedure because I was already “taking up too much time.” She literally pulled the needle out then immediately started with the procedure. The absolute disrespect and callousness I received from these two providers was unbelievable. just add this to the laundry list of traumatizing obgyn experiences. And from 2 FEMALE providers at that. We need to do better than this. Stop gaslighting women and perpetuating misogyny in healthcare by minimizing the very real pain we experience from these procedures. I would NEVER recommended this doctor or this office."

"I honestly made my decision to make Dr. Melton my primary OB, based on the reviews. I wanted to go to someone who actually cared. For years I've had severe pain with cramps. I never took any kind of birth control to manage my periods, and I wanted an alternate option as I did not want to alter the natural process of my body functions(as a women). I felt as though she pushed me to birth control as my only options she presented to me. long story short- 6 months later I almost died , and was told by Cleveland Clinic to never take birth control again. the History with black women on birth control shows to be alarming on how we are affected. (this was NOT discussed however during my visit with Dr. Melton). I feel like we are consistently being failed in the medical realm when it comes to our health."

"Dr. Melton is the best. She makes you feel very comfortable, listens to and answers all your questions/concerns, and she is very knowledgeable. Shes the best choice when looking for an OB/GYN."
