"My daughter actually took one season of dance here several years ago and we were overall really unimpressed by the whole experience. Since then she has taken lessons at a different, really excellent, dance studio, so I think Candance deserves an honest review in retrospect, because we now see how much better it can be done. The owner was totally unfriendly and unapproachable. When speaking to her, you just got a look that said she couldn’t understand why you would speak to her. Also the other families were extremely clique-y and unwelcoming. As a new family, we were not approached by a single person: not the owner, not a single teacher, not another parent to say hey, welcome. Also there was an award that would be given (monthly, I think? Maybe biweekly) called Dancer of the Whatever. It was a meaningless award, which means each child should probably get a chance to get it (these were four year olds, let’s be real) but my daughter was never given a second glance, even though other children were given the award more than once. It was clearly nothing more than giving out awards to the kids from the favorite families. Our experience at a different dance school has been wonderful! Super friendly people and very kind and supportive of ALL the kids!! I would not recommend Candance at all."
