About the Business
Barks & Recreation is Northeast Ohio's premier doggie daycare and boarding facility located at 9849 South Freeway Drive in Macedonia, Ohio. Our dedicated staff ensures that your furry friends are safe, happy, and well-cared for during their stay with us.
All pups must complete a New Pup Assessment to ensure they are comfortable and compatible with the other dogs in our environment. We offer full day, half-day, and monthly passes for both daycare and boarding, allowing you to save up to 50% on your pup's stay. Passes never expire, so you can purchase them in advance and use them as needed.
Our facility was founded out of a desire to provide the love and care that all dogs deserve. After trying other daycares, we found Barks & Recreation and have been loyal customers ever since. Our Great Danes love playing with the other dogs and we trust the staff to provide the best possible care for them.
Whether you have questions about pick-up and drop-off times, need directions, or want to discuss your pup's behavior, our team is always available to help. You can easily schedule daycare or boarding reservations through our website and receive confirmation within 24 hours.
In addition to daycare and boarding services, we also offer grooming appointments Monday through Saturday. Plan ahead for grooming appointments to ensure availability. Don't forget to bring your pups in on Saturdays in April for a special daycare treat for only $15.

"We highly recommend Barks and Rec for doggy daycare and boarding. We have a 2-1/2 year old with no issues and high energy and a 12-1/2 year old who requires meds and can’t spend too much time in daycare, unless he is lounging, otherwise he can barely stand-up/walk. We know that someone is monitoring his time because when we pick him up he can walk just fine! They also have no issues with giving him his meds. This place is great for both of our fur babies. "My pup’s favorite words are: walk, treat, car ride and DAYCARE!!! He can’t wait to go! I work from home with him most of the time but spend a few days a month at the office so those are his daycare days. When I pick him up he is happily exhausted after a day of fun and play. The staff is incredible. They know the dogs by name and are the friendliest crew to humans as well as pups. You’ll love it here! Oh- I’ve boarded him here while on vacation, too. I think he had more fun than I did!"
