"Michael Phillips was a nightmare to deal with. He released almost 24000 check to a condo association. Who’s now saying the work wasn’t done. So they can keep the money. Stay clear of this insurance he’s rude. And. I recommend reporting them to the bureau of insurance. He said we don’t 2 party depreciation checks. FYI the works done so the contractors best interest is to be on the check. Considering. They make u prove the works. Done. Run. Run run."

"I’m a contractor that has helped many customers with their Homeowners claims in the Cincinnati and Dayton area and Auto Owners is by far the worst to work with. They’re unorganized and unethically deny claims despite overwhelming evidence in support of coverage. They have hired conflicts of interest in situations when inspectors are meant to be unbiased. They will ignore emails and multiple follow ups for months on end. There is no urgency or even an ounce of desire to indemnify their customers as their policies contractually require. I would not recommend Auto Owners for homeowners insurance even if it was free."

"Have tried to get a refund for the unused portion of a cancelled home owners policy for several months with no success. Auto Owners keeps referring me back to the independent agent that originally sold the policy who has given me nothing but a run around. Do yourself a favor and purchase your insurance from a company that you can contact directly when you are unable to resolve issues through the local agent. Update to initial review. I finally located the mailing address for Auto Owners main office. After explaining the situation I received a prompt refund and apology."
