Originally constructed in 1938-1939 as a Works Project Administration (WPA) Project under President Franklin Roosevelt, the stadium has a rich history and is named after former Massillon, Ohio State, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Paul Brown. The stadium, listed as a historical site of significance by the State of Ohio, has a seating capacity of 16,884 and features field turf, closed fiberglass bleachers on the home and visitors' sides, open aluminum bleachers in the endzones, and handicap accessible seating. The stadium also boasts locker rooms, a press box, loge box, roof covering part of the home side, unobstructed field lighting, state-of-the-art scoreboard and sound system, and ample on-site parking.
