"DJ's Dojo is an excellent place for people of all ages to learn karate! A year ago, I was talking to a friend of mine about my daughter. She has ADHD so focusing can be a challenge and her confidence level was very low. My friend recommended karate since she saw the impact and benefits for her son and was thinking about karate for herself as well. I brought my daughter to join and she instantly fell in love with karate. Karate became her special thing that she gets to do and enjoy. She practiced real hard and belted up within a couple months. Sensei DJ is really great with the kids-- he is very lively and encouraging. He is capable of working well with any kid and personality and gets right on their level. He does a great job making people feel included. I had so much fun watching their classes that I began practicing the moves at home with my daughter and I ended up joining the older youth/young adult class! It's a little over a year later and we have advanced to blue and green belt! Together we have developed a new sense of confidence, a better understanding on how to defend ourselves, more flexibility, improved balance, and a place and activity to do that takes our mind off the everyday stress and allows for some time of peace/mindfulness. DJ's Dojo has a great community of people that make you feel like family. The business is Christian based and there are events and fellowship. The annual Halloween party is a BLAST! This year there will be an annual Christmas party as well. There are routine belt tests and plenty of opportunities in the local area for tournaments! So much fun for individuals and families. I got married this year and my husband has joined and his daughters LOVE it too! I could go on and on about what an awesome experience this is but you'll just have to check it out for yourself!"
