"Pretty decent for a ski resort in Ohio. The greens and blues have a nice trail to them and not all are straight slopes down. The black diamond is a decent challenge for new people. The terrain park is fun to learn jumping. The cafeteria is large with decent prices on food. Rental process is smooth, can get busy in the morning though."
"Good resort, well groomed, lot's of snow, very busy on weekends, plan accordingly or hit them up on weekdays or Midnight Madness on Fri-Sat night. Overall great place, nice big lodge, friendly staff, prebuy tickets and find the guy or gal standing near the line with a scanner. They can activate your lift ticket and give you a reusable card, save time! I prefer Snow Trails, due to same distance and cheaper price point. However they are smaller in size and sell out!!!! Mad river is a great place to learn to ride especially, huge beginner area!"
"By far the worst experience I’ve ever dealt with. Purchased tickets online and was still forced to stand in line for 4 1/2 hours before finally getting to speak with someone. By then, our bodies were numb from the cold and we were visibly upset/frustrated. No refunds were offered and there was a serious lack of empathy. The establishment was flooded with trash, the lines unorganized (people were cutting everywhere), and nothing was done to show appreciation to those that were standing in single digit temps for hours. We arrived at 4:45 PM and didn’t get to even speak with anyone until 9:15. By then we knew there would just be another line to stand in for equipment rentals (that we also already purchased online). We decided by then, we would just be wasting more time versus doing what we originally came/ paid to do. Serious changes need to be made. Thank you Mad River for allowing people to freeze outside for hours and for wasting 6 hour of my time after I already paid."
"WARNING: DO NOT COME HERE! Can't believe the experience we had. Like others, we had to wait around 3+ hours for a lift ticket I already paid for online when it feels like 0 degrees outside. I've attached a video of about half of the line that took people 3-4 hours to get through. No refund, no help, no nothing. I'm not sure I'll ever be back after the fiasco tonight, but please management, learn from your mistakes tonight. Next time, have a separate line for people to pick up tickets versus buying them there. Expect this large of a crowd to show up on the busiest night of the season. I bought tickets on the website the day of (before they were sold out), but Mad River was guilty of misleading people. The midnight madness tickets were never available to purchase online in the first place, yet they seemed to remove that off their website when it was convenient for them. Also, changing the website saying that you must reserve your spot for the college night. Well I reserved my spot, but you were still selling them at the gate to people, when I had to wait in the same line?I caught them in real time changing information about the event (and how to reserve/purchase tickets) hours before the event. Also, their phone lines were down all day, so we were unable to get any help. Overall, it was an absolutely horrible customer service experience, and I expect people to be woken up to how bad the state of the operations and management are here tonight. I hope people get their refunds or some sort of compensation after dealing with this tonight!!!"
