"Have had surgery with them before and their surgery staff is top notch. However, the office staff/policy is incredibly bad. Nice enough, but lacking compassion & common sense. Tried to schedule an appt today and they wouldn’t let me because I apparently have a $43 balance, from 2019. It’s hard to remember back that far but I don’t recall missing any bills, and it’s been long since sent to collections. Now I can’t schedule another appt. My experience 10 years ago was the same (great docs, poor office staff) so I guess that is their corporate policy."
"Anyone who’s worried about the scar. Lemme be the first to tell you. Dr. Kruger made my scar damn near invisible after one week it was almost unnoticeable. I was an army medic. I’ve seen some scars. Beast mode doc."
"I had surgery today and the entire staff were amazing, professional, and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Check in staff, nursing staff (Jennifer was my main nurse), anesthesia staff and doctor, along with Dr. Skidmore. They all communicated openly with myself and my husband and did an excellent job of explaining everything. Surgery is never fun, but this was the best experience I have had."
"I have never been so disappointed. The staff at Mayfield does not show patient compassion, and they do not truly care about your issue; their number one goal is to take your money. First off, I had to call Mayfield after four days of not receiving a call to schedule a steroid injection. Also, I have called a couple times without anyone answering, they don’t seem to answer their phones. I had an insurance issue with Mayfield, Mayfield told me that I was “out of network” FOUR DAYS before my procedure and that I had to pay $1,048 PRIOR to my nerve block procedure due to this apparent out of network insurance issue… Come to find out, I receive something in the mail stating my insurance did not cover it because my issue was a bone issue and Mayfield was doing steroid shots/nerve blocks that help nerve issues not my bone issue that they were aware of. It was not because I was “out of network” like Mayfield stated to me. I also tried to see if they would do some type of payment plan for the $1,048 and they were quick to tell me (and have absolutely no sympathy when saying it) that it had to be paid in FULL before coming in, which I think is ridiculous. I am 26 years old and personally could not pay that in full. Thankfully, in my situation, I was grateful to have financial help. I got the nerve block, but it did not work (of course because it was not a nerve issue to begin with). Mayfield leaves me a voicemail saying the nerve block is a “Fail” and that they will not continue with part 2 of the nerve block and that there is nothing they can do. This is not how Mayfield explained the nerve block to me, as they said to me -if the nerve they inject doesn’t have any relief they would try another nerve. Mayfield also was supposed to give me recommendations for a surgeon who is in-network for me and they gave me one recommendation, one who the surgeon personally did not agree with because they do things “different” at said hospital. So they failed to recommend me any surgeon to go to and left me high and dry. So here I am, still in chronic pain, with absolutely no pain relief and Mayfield sent their farewells in the voicemail and we have not been in contact since. Their tone of voice was very standoffish and not wanting to deal with me because of the insurance situation. I now have a bill of 2,000$+ at Mayfield. Have no surgeon to go too and am in chronic pain. All in all, I do not recommend Mayfield."
"Dr. Carruthers & his procedure team always provide excellent service & care when my husband needs a steroid injection for his back pain. Only negative or down-side is that I was not allowed to accompany my husband for his procedure due to their Covid policy, even though the policy on their website states 1 visitor is allowed for procedures. I have another hour to wait out in the car in 30° temps."
