"I am so impressed with Dr. Timothy McConnell, his staff and the Beacon Orthopedics group including their Physical Therape group. They are with you all the way. You will have all written insructions for pre-surgery including most frequently asked questions. You will be well informed about your surgery. Dr. McConnell's schedular Shannon was quick to return my calls if she is away from her desk EVERY time. Talk about efficiancy!! I had surgery on the same knee many years ago. At that time they installed a metal plate and many screws. It was a very painful surgery with a long recovery. Dr. McConnell had to remove all this hardware prior to doing a complete knee replacement. I was very surprised to be told it is outpatient surgery. I left the hospital on a walker the same day of the surgery. Starting physical therapy there were no surprises, as I met with them prior to surgery. Lastly I cannot praise these therapists enough. They are top notch. This has been lengthy, but if you have been putting off knee surgery, I will tell you that I am a little over 2 weeks post-op and doing well. I am transitioning from walker to cane and I am 76 year old female and looking forward to discarding the cane and start walking without the pain I had suffered for years."
