"I'd offer negative stars if I could. At this point I am not sure if I'd use this team if I was dying. I'll have to update this later. For now know they have done everything possible to force an amputation of my parent's leg. I found a renowned doctor that reviewed he case and has accepted her as a patient. But this Jobst vascular team has to lead the transfer request and care until the request is fulfilled. So far this Jobst team has done everything to discharge her without continued medical care. It took almost 24 hours for them to start the request. Since my parent will not agree to the amputation she is in the hospital immobile because this team refuses to try anything else. The second opinion consult suggested we wait and let the body tell us if the amputation is needed. The body is telling us it isn't. Which is great! However if it was up to the Jobst Vascular team she would be an amputee and in long term rehad and care facilities. Today the hospital nurse reached out to me asking for help to advocate against discharge because the vascular team will not listen to the nursing staff regarding her current needs, level of care being recieved care needed for discharge. We need to prevent discharge to ensure she is safe and cared for outside of this hospital. When I asked the vascular doctor today why she would consider discharging a patient who hasn't been up at lib, hasn't recieved orders for PT/ot evaluation and care (which have to be ordered by the vascular team), and who the nurses use a lift to move around the room, the resident doctor said I was insulting her and refused to continue to talk to me. Then proceeded to hang up on me. Let me also note, my parent has been in the hospital almost a month, during this time she has seen her primary vascular doctor once. She was told on Dec 31 this vascular team would only treat with amputation. When she requested he come to her bedside or call as a consult of the amputation they refused. Today, Jan 7th, was the first day that he has come to visit her, and first day (to our knowledge) that he has reviewed her case since the amputation orders were submitted. Despicable."
"I came to their doctor who told me I caught him on a good day, absolutely no heart. I have been driving 40 miles to see a specialist i wanted to go somewhere closer to me and I have been getting no help here"
"If I could give less than one star, I would. I had an appointment via telephone with Dr. Fish to discuss some issues a person with disabilities I support is having. Not only was he 25 minutes late calling for the appointment, he was rude, questioning the policies our company has put into place regarding COVID-19, why the individual could not come in for the appointment. He questioned what we considered an emergency and what was considered a necessary appointment, then questioned how I knew that the individuals appointment was not necessary. After I had explained, I must admit I was a little flustered at this point; I stated that I was doing what I could to follow the policies and still have the individual seen for symptoms. I asked Dr. Fish if he wanted to continue the appointment or if it would be best to reschedule. Dr. Fish asked what was wrong with the individual. I explained the symptoms the individual was having and incorrectly said one of the conditions, Dr. Fish Immediately berated me, stating that the person does not have "this condition", they have "that condition", he continued on insulting me, but I was no longer listening. I stated that I felt uncomfortable with the way that he was speaking to me and that I was ending the appointment, right now. Dr. Fish was still talking as I ended the call. I have worked in the medical field for 20 years, 16 of those with people with disabilities, I have facilitated numerous appointments for the individuals we support. I have never been treated in such a manner by someone who is considered a professional. Our in-house appointments with Dr. Fish have been fine previous to this experience. I am shocked by how rudely I was treated, how Dr. Fish did not appear to even care about the individual, who has been a patient of his and the vascular center for years. I worry that he treats other patients this way, those who cannot or do not speak up for themselves. I do not recommend this doctor and we will not be back."
