"Corned beef was good but we've had better. Expected more for the deli price. Nice thick rye bread is good hot. Potato latke was meh. Had to eat all of the applesauce they give you to choke down the last bite. As others have mentioned they bring your drink and food but it's expected that you clean up. I don't mind but don't ask for a 20% tip. Manager was nice. Dill pickles were soft and I prefer half done."
"3.5* Sandwich was good but the employee taking the orders was a little challenging to understand. The matzo ball soup was simply chicken broth and a matzo ball. Nothing else in it. That was disappointing as other places at least have vegetables or chicken. The garlic pickles from the barrel were great; the dill pickles were complete soggy and should be removed from the barrel. They serve you the drink you order vs a fountain with self-serve. This is fine, but if you change your mind or want a refill either you're out of luck or have to find an employee and ask them. When the two of us went in it was lunch time on a weekday and we were the only customers in there. The cooks were sitting down playing video games and it was just kind of an awkward environment compared to the bustling atmosphere in the German Village. If you were to patron Katzinger's for the first time I would recommend the German Village location hands down. Also, the potato salad hunks of potato were still rather firm. Not cooked enough. Great music playing in the empty restaurant, though!"
"I ordered the Gene's free lunch and it came with 1 tiny piece of corned beef and1 tiny slice of roast beef. There is barley anything on the sandwich it is mostly bread. I will not be going back or recommend. For $17 a sandwich it should come with more than bread and a little bit of coleslaw. I'm not happy."
"FANTASTIC! We went to this restaurant because of a 2020 magazine in a Dr's office. They are known for their Reubens, and I can see why .... AMAZING! The reuben comes in 2 sizes with homemade russian dressing. The corn beef is made in-house ( I love the spices). The service is great. They have plenty of suggestions. There are pickle barrels in the dining room that you can get as many pickles as your heart desires. We had macaroni salad and cole slaw ( loved them both). The coleslaw is creamy and not sweet. Macaroni salad has great flavor and is not overly dressed. Next, they brought out the cheese blintz ( crepe style filled with a creamy white sweet cheese filling). It comes with sour cream or preserves, we had both. When u eat it with the sour cream it makes it have a grilled cheese flavor and with the apricot preserves it tastes like a sweet treat. The noodle kugel was especially interesting noodles layered with cheese and a middle layer of cherries, then cinnamon on top. I am so glad I got to try it ( more like a dessert). Strangest thing but great taste. The potato knish had Carmelized onions and mashed potatoes wrapped by pastry like a croissant. Had the flavor of a Perogi. Next the potato latke had a good flavor, but was a little different in texture than I am used to ( very dense tight patty) homemade chicken broth with a matzo ball ( giant doughy airy dumplin) had really good flavor. For dessert we ended up getting carrot cake. This cake is full of walnuts and carrots, has a good spice and cream cheese icing. Definitely give them a chance. Huge menu and plenty to try as you can tell. Also they sell their amazing breads meats and honey and lots more. Enjoy floks!"
"Absolutely wowed by this place! The deli and decor is super cute and clean. We were helped by Roman and he was very welcoming and friendly. Usually at restaurants you get in and out, but he truly made our experience there one of a kind. We ordered a little bit of everything, the egg salad was so yummy. The kids menu had a variety of options from pb&j to hot dogs, they had chicken soup and a vegetarian/vegan sandwich selection. I highly recommend this place, the food was fresh and the pickles were A+!"
