Reviews of DLM Culinary Center
"Regarding employment opportunities: Maybe it's the dreads. My son applied for a job at this location, and twice the manager didn't show up for the scheduled interview. The third time he went in, they interviewed him, and he was told that they would get back to him. We frequent this establishment often, and I'm a business owner myself. I happened to be in the store and spoke to the manager AND supervisor. Matt directed me to the manager when I asked if they were hiring. I told them that I was not seeking employment myself but that my son had applied and hadn't heard back. I was told that with college, they had people who were scheduled and then going back over the holidays. I said no problem (I totally understood that). They took my sons number and said they would give him a call. This was December 31st. Mind you, my son applied months prior. Today, January 15th, my wife happened to inquire about our son's application. Again, same song and dance, "we'll look into it. Let me take his number and get back to you." My son gets a message from Connor, "we've decided to go in another direction." Not a problem, but all of this could have been stated earlier to a kid looking for a job respectively and even told them that he's always wanted to work for them since he thought of working. If this is how businesses will treat our African-American students in this district, then all they're left with is fast food and there's nothing wrong with that at all but maybe our children don't want to work in fast food. Or maybe it's his dreads. Still clean cut but not looking like everyone else who works there. Whatever their "reason" is, I would like to think they could have done better. Shame on you."
"Not what we were thinking. Most expensive pizza I have ever eaten. two samples of wine that were two ounce pours. Thought each course would be paired with each dish. Honestly feel kinda of ripped off for what we got. The pizza crust was burnt on the first pizza presented. It was $90 a person for two pieces with minimal toppings, very small serving of anti pasta and a small desert. The staff was really nice and the chef was very informative. That was the only good thing about the experience."
"Not at all what I thought I paid for. For $90 a person I was expecting a real cooking class, not a cooking demo. The portions were small and pre cooked, so lukewarm at best. It tasted great, however I feel like I could have gotten the same food at a restaurant for cheaper. Not the experience I was expecting"
"My husband and I had a wonderful time at The Little Cooking School. Chef Gabi was a great instructor, the atmosphere was fun and the food delicious. We would highly recommend this as a fun night out."
"It's cool, but don't expect for it to actually be hands on. Our entire table was incredibly disappointed that we weren't doing any of the cooking. We wouldn't have signed up if we knew as much. I think there needs to be clarification on the website specifically stating whether or not you are going to be doing the cooking or having any hands on experience. Food was good, but for the same price you can go anywhere else that offers cooking classes that you actually get to cook. I'd recommend looking somewhere else for interactive cooking classes."
