"The food was very good. I absolutely loved the mushrooms with the garlic aioli dipping sauce. Service was stellar and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Portions were large and we felt it was a great deal. Definitely will be back! Doing it right!"
"Good food. Generous portions. Very affordable. We will be back for more. (I do respectfully suggest that you offer fresh cut fries to go with your great onion rings, and add some warm or happy colors to decor.)"
"The waitress seemed new but she was very nice to us, and extremely apologetic at the end. I really appreciate her hospitality in the end. We waited about 15-20 minutes before anyone asked if we had been helped or had taken a drink order. While other tables who had gotten there after us had been helped almost immediately. We ordered everything at once since we had waited that long. It still took about on extra 10 minutes to get the drinks. Our appetizer came out after or entrees. I had gotten Pretzel bites, they didn’t have salt on them, they didn’t come with the beer cheese, or the honey mustard. I had to ask for them… and they were very over cooked. The burgers flat and very over cooked, extremely dry. The remodel seems a little dark, lots of black and gray, maybe a little color would be a nice touch."
"You could tell that things were hectic. There was still training staff going on. Still the same pleasant and cordial place I remember to eat. I’ve been enjoying Bishops since 1977. Same family run atmosphere. They were just opening up again with new staff so I wasn’t looking for perfection. We had a couple hiccups while there, but hey give them a chance. It’s local and the atmosphere is family. It’s not supposed to be fine dining in my opinion. I could tell they were trying to meet there customer needs with good service, food, great deserts, and awesome onion rings. I Will definitely be back with family and friends. If there is a take away it would be the long tables in the back room are too close. Just a thought. Blessing for a fresh start. Dennis Riley and wife"
"We went for dinner on the second day since the remodel and new owners so this review is subject to change, we will go back but this is just based on our first experience. The lights at the main counter were a little overwhelming and too bright. The decor and seating were pretty decent. Our server was very sweet and you could tell there was a mix of experienced and fairly new servers, I can see how the pressure would be at the forefront of the new staff. Food was what you expect, nothing amazing (but that apple pie was something else, hot tip, take it to go and heat up in a microwave for about 45 seconds). Grilled chicken sandwich was just about the plainest tasting thing I have ever had, I know, who goes to a place known for burgers and rings and gets a chicken sandwich? Fish sandwich was fine to others at the table, they thought it would have been an actual filet and not just pieces. Onion rings were big and greasy, just the way they're meant to be. They were waiting on their checkout system so all bills were tallied by the gals at the front counter which took a little longer than usual but again, it was the second day opening, I'm sure everything will run smoothly as time goes on. I'm looking forward to going back and trying a couple other things on the menu, but I know what to expect and know that it's not a fine dining establishment, it's a Wooster institution that's seen many changes over the years and has a loyal customer base."
