Reviews of Bourbon Behavioral Health
"Just left there, would not recommend. Dr said I could leave but nurses would not let me leave."
"I went to this place about a month ago for my mental health and I had a very good experience. Compared to the last time i was at a hospital, this was so much better. it was smaller than the hospital i went to prior to bourbon county which was really nice. They are trans friendly and allowed me to have a roommate. Of course, there are some things i have complained about while i was hospitalized such as not having enough entertainment during room time and not being able to contact friends and not being able to contact my family enough. there wasnt any source of music unless the staff put something on the TV. i wish friends could come in for visiting hours and/or being able to call friends. with all these great things, there were some things i didnt like. For example, i didnt get all of my clothes or books that i would have liked to have. other than that, i totally recommend this place!"
"They were way to pushy about people who didn't feel good. They always kept us trapped in the rooms longer than intended then we have the fact people get hungry easily but when they fall asleep it's a "problem" and "must be reported to the doctor" just because we don't want other people knowing our issues. I hated this place and they relate themselves to the ridge when they haven't heard how bad it is. The ridge has kids die unlike them and that was like 5 people died while my friend's brother was there. One of them happened to be a 5-year old kids with schizophrenia"
"No stars for this place. Absolutely one of the worst experiences I've had at a mental institution in a long time. The staff and nurses were VERY rude and uncaring. They verbally started arguements and used curse words. They are incapable of compassion. I wouldn't recommend them to a stray dog. They wouldn't given me much medication and then when I had a severe anxiety attack they tried to pick fights with me. All they let you do do is smoke and lay around. The group's at this hospital are mostly for drug addicts as far as mental health dont think they know what there doing I talked to a social worker at the hospital and he got so worried about the other patients he called the dirctor of hospital to come talk to me she was very upset also if anyone even thinks about going to this place I would think again i have been to alot mental hospitals in the state this is one of worst someone really needs to come show the nurse staff how to deal with mental patients and they need to retrain them on how to deal with mental patients"
"I was admitted for depression and anxiety, the place is absolutely amazing. They really do help. Although it can be boring, it does in fact help you think about what you're supposed to be working on (yourself). They make sure their job is done when you leave. I'm glad that I was admitted and got the help I really needed. I really do recommend it for anyone having any issues. The nurses are amazing, and so is the social worker is a very sweet lady. I love them all "
