Reviews of Porch Willoughby
"Our first time here, we weren't sure what to expect. Local bar atmosphere but everyone was so friendly, even the other patrons. My Porch burger was excellent and prices very reasonable. Bonus, they are dog friendly! We'll be back."
"This is my partner and I's favorite hangout. We love this place, but feel a little worried about coming back now. I was hesitant to leave this review at all, because I genuinely don't want anyone to get in trouble, and that's not my goal here at all. But if you come here, BE CAREFUL if you pay with any bills higher than a 20. I lost my job last month, and just found a new job. My parents gave me a 50 dollar bill to go out and celebrate (it's a much better job than I've ever had, but not relevant), so this was the ONLY bill in my wallet, as I'd left all my other cash at home, planning to just have a few drinks and celebrate. We ordered a couple of cheap drinks, and I paid with cash (the $50, the only bill that I had on me). Our total came to $7. I received $13 in change. I thought it was just a mistake- I get it. I've worked exclusively in retail and food service until now, and I've made the same mistake, took accountability, and promptly fixed it. This is not what happened when I was on the customer end. I flagged down Mandy, the other person bartending (I'm not sure what the other guy's name was), and let her know of the mix up. She goes to tell the other guy, they are looking in the register together, and he is insisting that we paid with a 20 dollar bill, I overheard him insist this to her over and over. I start panicking, because that $50 was all that I had on me. The longer they try and figure it out, the closer I'm getting to an actual panic attack. Mandy thankfully saves the day and was able to get me my correct change. We ended up just finishing our drinks and leaving. I had my boyfriend come back in with a few dollars to tip the guy that originally made the mistake and continually insisted that I gave him $20 and not $50, and had my boyfriend apologize to him, while I sat outside smoking a cigarette, trying to calm myself enough that I wouldn't start crying in front of people as I waited on him (I have extreme anxiety, and I really just wanted him to know that I was sorry for the mix up and that I didn't mean for him to think I was trying to pull one over on him, or whatever was going through his head if he REALLY didn't think he made a mistake for some reason, though I'm not sure why I'd ever try to do something like that?!). I'm not going to let one bad experience make me never come back again, but I think we definitely won't be coming back for a while. Mandy is super awesome, and I wish I could just thank her over and over again for helping, but lesson learned- come in with small bills only, if I'm going to pay in cash. My advice, if you're paying with cash, announce what bills you are handing over. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else, and also if anyone important sees my review, PLEASE don't have the guy be in trouble. You can talk to him about it, but I really, really don't want anyone in trouble as I'm sure it was just a mistake that I truly hope doesn't happen again!"
"The burgers here are incredible! Honestly I haven't had much else but man, those are well worth a trip here!"
"Best bar in NE Ohio, cant recommend this place enough. Staff is great, food and drinks are good. Perfect place to watch a game and play some bar games. The Golden wings and the Porch Burger are absolutely tremendous."
"We were there around 11:45 AM on a Saturday so it understandably wasn't hopping. Had a couple drinks and the Porchrolls. They were awesome! A very unique take on egg rolls. The bartender was friendly and food was good. There's Keno, pinball, hoops, golden tee, bar bowling and a pool. Cool place!"
